Alright, so I wanted to get better at WWE 2K23, especially those heavy combos. They look so cool, and I wanted to pull them off myself. So I started my little experiment.
Figuring Out the Basics
First, I jumped into the game’s tutorial mode. Gotta start somewhere, right? I spent some time there, just getting a feel for the basic controls. Punches, grapples, you know, the easy stuff. I made sure I could do these consistently before I even thought about the heavy stuff.

Practice Makes Perfect
-
Light Attacks First: I learned that most heavy combos start with a few light attacks. So, I practiced those. Just simple button presses, nothing fancy. I picked a character I liked, and just started hitting buttons in different sequences.
-
Finding the Timing: This was the tricky part. It’s not just about pressing the buttons in the right order; it’s about the timing. I had to figure out the rhythm of each combo. I spent a lot of time just repeating the same moves, over and over, until I could feel the timing.
-
Using the Move List: Okay, I admit it. I looked at the in-game move list. I’m no pro. It shows you the button combinations for each character’s heavy combos. I didn’t memorize them all, but I picked a few that looked cool and focused on those.
Putting It All Together
After practicing the individual moves, I started trying to chain them together. This was where it got frustrating. I’d mess up the timing, drop the combo, and get pummeled by the AI. But I kept at it. I started with simple combos, just two or three moves strung together. Slowly, I started to get the hang of it.
Trying It in a Real Match
Finally, I felt ready to try my new skills in a real match. I picked a low-difficulty opponent, just to give myself a chance. The first few attempts were a disaster. I was too focused on the combos and forgot to, you know, actually play the game.
But then, it happened. I landed a full heavy combo! It felt awesome. It wasn’t perfect, and I still lost the match, but I did it.

So, that’s my journey to landing heavy combos in WWE 2K23. It’s all about practice, timing, and a little bit of help from the move list. Still learning, though!
