So you wanna know which NBA team to support, huh? Well, lemme tell you, it ain’t as easy as pickin’ a ripe tomato from the vine. There’s a whole bunch of ’em, and they’re all yellin’ and screamin’ and jumpin’ around.
First thing you gotta know, there’s these fellas called the Lakers. They’re from Los Angeles, that big fancy city out west. They got a whole pile of them things, whatchamacallits, championships! Seventeen, they say! More than anyone cept them Celtics. Must be somethin’ in the water out there. They got lots of fans, more than any other team, they like to be show-offs. Always gettin’ the big stars, like them fancy roosters everyone wants in their coop.

Then there’s them Boston Celtics. They’re the top dogs, I reckon. Eighteen championships! More than the Lakers. They play in Boston, it is another big city. Them and the Lakers, they’re always fightin’ like two old hens over a worm. It been goin’ on for years and years.
And don’t forget about the Chicago Bulls. Six championships, not too shabby. They was real good back in the day, like when my old man was still kickin’. They had this fella, Jordan, who could jump higher than a grasshopper on a hot stove. They was good at that defense thing, too, stoppin’ the other fellas from scorin’. They say they was the best ever.
- Los Angeles Lakers: Lots of wins, lots of fans, big city.
- Boston Celtics: Even more wins, old rivals of the Lakers.
- Chicago Bulls: Good in the past, had that Jordan fella.
Now, some folks, they pick a team ’cause they like the color of their shirts. Sounds silly, don’t it? Like pickin’ a husband based on his overalls. But hey, whatever floats your boat, I reckon. Maybe you like purple and gold. That’s the Lakers’ color. Or maybe green. That’s them Celtics.
Some folks like a team ’cause they like where it’s from. You from the UK? Well, ain’t no teams over there, least not yet. Maybe you just pick a city you like the sound of. New York, they got a team. Lots of cities do.
And if you are new to this whole basketball thing, just watchin’ the games. See which fellas you like watchin’. See which team makes you jump up and down and holler at the TV. That’s how you know you found your team, the one that gets your blood pumpin’.
Some folks, they like a team that always wins. Like them fair-weather friends who only come around when the sun’s shinin’. But me, I like a team that’s got some fight in ’em. Even if they ain’t always winnin’, they’re still out there tryin’. Like an old mule, stubborn and tough.

It don’t matter which team you pick, long as you have fun watchin’. It’s just a game, after all. Don’t get too worked up about it, like some of them city folks do. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy the show.
Choosing an NBA team, it’s a personal thing. There ain’t no right or wrong answer. It’s like pickin’ your favorite pie. Some folks like apple, some like cherry. Just gotta find the one that tastes right to you.
Now if you ask me which NBA team to support, I just like watchin’ ’em all run around. They all got their good points and bad points, like a bunch of chickens in a coop. Sometimes they peck each other, sometimes they lay a golden egg. You never know what you’re gonna get, and that’s half the fun.
Don’t you worry too much about it. Just watch them NBA teams. You’ll figure it out. It ain’t rocket science. It is just a bunch of tall fellas throwin’ a ball around. You like to watch them Lakers? Good for you. Celtics? Fine by me. Bulls? You go right ahead. Just don’t get into no fights about it at the dinner table. It ain’t worth it. There is more important things to argue about, like the best way to make potato salad, or why the chickens ain’t layin’.
So there you have it. Just enjoy the game. Maybe you like them Lakers, maybe them Celtics. Maybe you will find another team. Just remember that which NBA team you support don’t really matter. They are all basketball NBA teams. Just pick one and have fun. Or don’t pick one. Just watch and see them boys run. That is enough for me, these old bones get tired just thinking about all that running. I need a nap.
