Okay, here’s my blog post about figuring out which NBA team fouls the most, written in a casual, personal style:
Alright, so the other day I was watching a basketball game with a buddy, and we got into this whole debate about which team racks up the most fouls. I was sure it was one team, he swore it was another. You know how it is. Instead of just arguing about it, I figured, why not actually find out? I mean, the data’s gotta be out there, right?

My Little Data Deep Dive
So, first, I just started by searching the internet. I figured the official NBA site would have something, and I stumbled upon a bunch of stats pages. Seriously, it was like a stats overload!
I’m no data scientist, so I decided to find a method to collect and show my records,I started hunting around for something, and I ended up finding this cool feature on the NBA site itself.
Once I found that, it was pretty straightforward. I could sort by team and see their total fouls for the regular season.
- First I selected a date.
- Then I looked through all the teams one by one.
I felt like a detective, clicking through, looking at all these numbers. I even made a little handwritten list just to keep track. Old school, I know, but it helped!
The “A-ha!” Moment
After digging through, I finally found the data. I sorted by “fouls” and boom – there it was. I won’t spoil it in case you wanna do your own research, but let’s just say my friend was… surprised. I had the bragging rights, backed up by actual numbers! It was a good feeling.
So yeah, that’s how I spent a good chunk of my afternoon. It was kind of a fun little project, and it definitely settled the argument. Plus, I learned a bit more about where to find NBA stats, which is always useful. Next time someone asks me a random basketball question, I’ll know exactly where to go!
