Alright, folks, gather around because today I’m gonna share my little adventure from yesterday – trying to catch the Kansas State football game. Now, I ain’t no tech wizard, but I managed to figure it out, and if I can, you sure as heck can too.
So, first things first, I needed to find out where this game was even playing. You know, the usual drill – which channel, what time, the whole shebang. A quick search told me that ESPN2 was the place to be. That’s simple enough, right? But here’s the catch – I’ve cut the cord a while back, so no cable TV for me.

That meant I had to dive into the world of streaming. I’ve dabbled with a few of these services before, so I wasn’t totally lost. I remembered hearing about this thing called FuboTV. Apparently, they have live sports, and it was free to try? Sounded good to me! I signed up, not bad, they have a lot of channels, but will they have the football game? I was in luck, K-State Wildcats was playing!
- Headed over to FuboTV.
- Signed up for their trial.
- Bam! There was the game.
But I wanted to have a backup plan, just in case. I checked out a few other options, like Hulu+Live TV and YouTube TV. Both of them had ESPN2 as well, so those were solid alternatives. There’s also this DirecTV Stream thing, but I already tried Fubo, so I didn’t go down that road.
Another thing I stumbled upon was that you can supposedly stream games through the ESPN app or even their website. But you usually need a cable subscription to log in. Like I said, no cable here, so that wasn’t really an option for me. But hey, if you’ve got cable, that might work for you.
The End Result
In the end, I stuck with FuboTV, and it worked like a charm. Got to watch the whole game, no hiccups, no issues. The Wildcats, they played their hearts out, but that’s a story for another day. The important thing is, I found a way to watch them, and you can too. Just remember, there are options out there, even without cable. You just gotta do a little digging. And honestly, if this old dog can learn these new tricks, so can you!
