Okay, so I’ve been seeing this question – “when is Bronny James’ first NBA game?” – pop up everywhere. And you know, I’m a curious person, so I decided to dig in and really figure this out. My journey started, like most things these days, with a simple search.
First, I checked the usual sports websites. Nothing concrete. Lots of speculation, draft projections, and talk about his potential, but no actual game date. It was all “he’s expected to…” and “if he gets drafted by…”. Ugh, frustrating!

So, I changed my approach. Instead of looking for a specific date, I started following news about the NBA draft. The logic was simple: I can’t find out his first game until I know which team he’ll be playing for. That’s step one, right?
Following the NBA Draft
This part was interesting. I immersed myself in draft analysis, mock drafts. I even started watching some of Bronny’s college games, just to see what all the fuss was about. No game date yet, but I was learning a lot!
- I learned about the whole draft lottery system.
- I found out which teams might be a good fit for Bronny.
- I even picked up some basketball knowledge along the way (which is always a bonus!).
Then, draft day came and finally I got some useful information. Bronny James was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers.
I scoured the Lakers’ schedule as soon as it was released. Bingo! The preseason and regular season schedules were out, but they can change anytime. I marked a few potential “first game” candidates on my calendar, figuring it would be one of those.
And finally, after days of uncertainty, the official game happened! It was the Lakers against the Suns, December, 2023.
So, there you have it. That’s how I, a regular person with a lot of curiosity, went from wondering about Bronny James’ first NBA game to actually finding out the real answer. It wasn’t a straight line, but it was a fun little research project!
