So, you wanna know what F1 team you should be rootin’ for, huh? Well, lemme tell ya, it ain’t as easy as pickin’ the prettiest color, no sir! There be a whole lot to these F1 things, more than meets the eye, I tell ya.
First off, you got these Ferrari folks. They been around since the cows came home, winnin’ and winnin’. They the big dogs, like the rooster in the henhouse. Everyone knows Ferrari. They like the color red, bright red, like a fire engine. If you like winnin’, and lots of folks do, then maybe Ferrari is your team. They got lots of history, like that old quilt your grandma made, full of stories and patches.

Then there’s this other team, McLaren. They’re kinda like Ferrari’s younger brother, always tryin’ to catch up. They’re good, mind you, but they ain’t Ferrari. Still, they win some, and they got some fancy orange cars. Orange, like a pumpkin. If you like the underdog, the little guy tryin’ to make it big, then maybe McLaren is for you.
Now, some folks, they don’t care ’bout the teams. They just like the drivers, the fellas drivin’ them cars. It’s like, you don’t care what kinda tractor a farmer has, you just like the farmer, you know? And that’s alright too. These drivers, they’re like racehorses, fast and strong. Some folks, they like the fastest one, the one always winnin’. Others, they like the one who tries real hard, even if he don’t win much.
I used to have a favorite, a long time ago. One fella, he was a real good driver. But then I started likin’ them all. Kinda. Except the one who’s winnin’ all the time. This year, there’s this Max fella. He’s winnin’ everything! So, I guess I don’t like him as much this year. Next year, who knows? Maybe I’ll like him again.
It’s like pickin’ your favorite chicken. They’re all good chickens, layin’ eggs and such. But sometimes, you just like one more than the others. And that’s okay.
- Ferrari – Lots of winning. Red cars. Big team, real big.
- McLaren – Also good, but not as much winning as Ferrari. Orange cars.
- Drivers – Some folks just like the drivers, not the teams. That is okay too.
- Max – Winning a lot this year. Maybe not my favorite because of it.
This F1 team business is a real head-scratcher, it is. There are so many of them, all with their fancy cars and fast drivers. It ain’t like pickin’ a favorite cow, where Bessie is clearly the best ’cause she gives the most milk. Nope, this is harder.
You see all these numbers flyin’ around. Number 17. What is that number? Well, turns out, they don’t use that number no more. Some fella, he got hurt real bad in one of them F1 races, and he had that number. So they don’t use it no more. Out of respect, they say. Like when we retired old Betsy the mule, after she worked the fields for so many years. We gave her a good pasture and let her rest. Same idea, I reckon.

And these F1 races, they happen all over the place! 24 of them in 2025, they say. That’s a whole lot of racin’. I remember back when we’d have a race at the county fair. Them pigs would run around the track, and we’d all cheer. This is kinda like that, but with cars, and a whole lot faster. You can watch them on TV, on that Sky Sports thing. I seen it once, lots of noise and colors.
Some folks, they say that these F1 teams ain’t what they used to be. Back in the day, they say, the teams had more… character. Like them old tractors, the ones that sputtered and coughed, but kept on chuggin’. Now, they say, the teams are too fancy, too polished. Like them newfangled combines, all shiny and computerized. They get the job done, sure, but they ain’t got the same soul.
But you know what? It’s still a spectacle. It is somethin to watch! All these cars goin’ around and around is a sight to behold, like a whole flock of birds takin’ flight at once. And the folks cheerin’, and the flags wavin’. It’s a big to-do, that’s for sure.
So, which F1 team should you support? Well, that’s up to you. Do you like the big winners, like Ferrari? Or the underdogs, like McLaren? Or maybe you just like one of them drivers, no matter what team they’re on.
There ain’t no right or wrong answer. It’s like pickin’ your favorite pie at the church social. Apple, peach, cherry, they’re all good in their own way. Just pick the one that tastes best to you, and enjoy the race!
And that is about all I know about this F1 team business. It’s a lot to take in, I know. But hopefully, this helps you figure out who to root for. Or at least, it gives you somethin’ to think about while you’re watchin’ them cars go zoomin’ by. Just remember to enjoy them F1 races, no matter who you are rootin’ for.
