Well, you see these young folks playing football, they got these fancy sunglasses on, makes ’em look like movie stars or something. I tell ya, back in my day, we didn’t have none of that. We just squinted! But these days, they got all kinds of shades. What are those popular sunglasses for football players? Let me tell ya.
Shiny Sunglasses
First off, you see a lot of them wearing those shiny ones, reflect all the light. Look like mirrors! I guess it helps keep the sun out of their eyes when they’re trying to catch that ball. And they look cool, I suppose, all shiny and such. Some folks call ’em, I believe, “mirrored” or somethin’ like that. And I hear tell, them shiny ones, they help ’em see better on the field, somethin’ about the colors poppin’ more. Imagine that!
Them Oakley Things
Now, a lot of these boys, they wear those Oakley ones. Heard some folks say it’s the best kind. I don’t know about all that, but they sure are popular. Oakley this, Oakley that, that’s all I hear. Oakley sunglasses for football are designed tough, that’s what they say. And they got that special, whatchamacallit, “Prizm” thing in ’em. Makes the ball easier to see, or somethin’ like that. These football players, they swear by ’em. They say those Oakley things are like magic for their eyes. Don’t know, they just look like regular sunglasses to me, but what do I know?

But it ain’t just Oakley. There’s others, too. That Adidas, they make some, I think. And some other names I can’t rightly recall. They all look kinda the same to me, all dark and sporty-like. But I guess they all do the job. Keep the sun out, make ’em look cool. That’s what matters, right? They’re all meant for sports, I reckon. Gotta be tough, gotta stay on your face when you’re runnin’ around.
Them Wrap-Around Kinds
And then there’s those ones that kinda wrap around their heads. Like a bug’s eyes, almost! I guess that helps keep ’em on tight when they’re runnin’ and jumpin’. Can’t have your sunglasses fallin’ off in the middle of a game, can you? Those wrap-around ones, they seem pretty popular, too. I see a lot of them football players wearin’ those. They look kinda funny to me, but I guess they work.

Most of ’em are dark, I noticed. Black or dark blue, somethin’ like that. I guess that’s the best for blockin’ out the sun. Can’t be wearin’ pink sunglasses when you’re tryin’ to look tough on the football field, can you? No sir. Gotta be dark, gotta be serious. Though, I did see one fella with some red ones once. Looked kinda silly, if you ask me. But hey, to each their own, right?

They say these sunglasses, they gotta be tough. Football’s a rough game, you know. Lots of pushin’ and shovin’. So, these glasses, they can’t just break easy. They gotta be strong, like them football players. I hear they make ’em out of some special stuff, so they don’t shatter if they get hit. Smart, I guess. Don’t want nobody gettin’ hurt by broken glass.

These prescription things make sure they can, even with the sun in their eyes. They are like my reading glasses, but fancy and dark. Ain’t that somethin’?

A lot of these young boys, they wear these sunglasses ’cause they wanna look like their favorite players. That’s what I hear, anyway. They see them pros on TV, all decked out in their gear, and they wanna be just like ’em. So they get the same sunglasses, the same shoes, the same everything. It’s kinda cute, in a way. I remember when my grandson wanted a special hat just like his hero wore. These sunglasses, they’re like a fashion thing, too.
Fancy and Expensive
Now, these sunglasses, they ain’t cheap, I can tell you that. I saw the price tag on one of ’em once, and I nearly fainted! More than my whole grocery bill for a month! But I guess these football players, they make a lot of money, so they can afford it. And I suppose if it helps ’em play better, it’s worth it. Still, seems like a lot of money for somethin’ to keep the sun out of your eyes.

All to help ’em see better and look cool, I guess. It’s a different world these days, ain’t it? But one thing’s for sure, them boys sure do love their sunglasses!
