Alright, alright, let’s talk about this boxing stuff, you know, who’s showing it tonight. I ain’t no fancy expert, but I can tell ya what I know.
So, you wanna watch some folks punch each other, huh? Well, seems like there’s always some fight happening somewhere. They got these big TV channels, like, uh, TNT Sports, I think they call it. And some fancy thing called discovery+ if you’re in that UK place. You can watch it on your TV, through Sky or BT or whatever those city folks use. They got these things called “platforms” now, everything’s a platform, like a train platform but for TV, go figure.

How long these fights last? Well, it depends. The big boys, they can go at it for twelve rounds, three minutes a round. Women, they get two minutes, ain’t that somethin’? But most fights, they ain’t that long, maybe four to ten rounds, depends on how much punchin’ they’ve done before, you know, their “experience” they call it. Sounds fancy, but it just means they ain’t newbies.
- Big fights, twelve rounds max for men (3 minutes each)
- Women fight for 2 minutes a round
- Lots of fights are shorter, 4-10 rounds
They do all this punchin’ in a roped-off area, a “ring” they call it. Like a fancy pen for angry chickens! You can watch these fights live, on TV or maybe on that internet thing the young’uns are always yappin’ about.
Now, if you wanna know ’bout the really big fights, the ones everyone’s talkin’ about, there’s this place called BoxingScene. They got all the info, dates, times, who’s fightin’ who. They even got a schedule, so you know what’s comin’ up.
Seems like even those UFC fellas, the ones who do all that wrestlin’ and kickin’, they’re gettin’ into boxing now too. Guess punchin’ is just somethin’ some folks gotta do. So tonight, there might be one of them UFC guys tryin’ his hand at boxing, first time as a “professional” they say. Means he’s gettin’ paid, I reckon.
Finding out who’s fightin’ ain’t always easy, though. They got schedules, they say they’re “updated daily”, but sometimes it feels like you gotta hunt for the information like a chicken huntin’ for corn. You can search for “Upcoming Fight”, “Boxing Schedule 2024”, or whatever year it is. They even had schedules for 2022 and 2023, but that’s old news now.
So, let’s say you wanna know if there’s any boxing tonight, right now? Well, there’s places you can look, they got all the info, they say. They got the “pro boxing schedule” for the week, so you know what’s what.

And if you wanna look ahead, see what fights are comin’ later on, you can check out the boxing schedule for the whole year, 2024, they say. They even got a list of all the champions, all the weight classes, heavyweights, lightweights, all sorts of weights. I don’t get it, a punch is a punch, right?
Sometimes you hear about these smaller fights, like, uh, George Crotty and Dylan Courtney, fightin’ at “light heavyweight”. Sounds fancy, but they’re just skinny fellas who punch hard, I guess. They gotta start somewhere, right?
Now, if you’re wonderin’ about a specific fight, like this Emanuel Navarrete fella fightin’ Oscar Valdez, you gotta know where they’re at. This one, they say it’s at the Footprint Center, in Phoenix, Arizona. That’s a long ways from here, I tell ya.
And if you ain’t at home, and you wanna watch the fight, you gotta find a place that’s showin’ it. You gotta ask ’em, “Hey, you showin’ the fight?” Or you can go on that internet thing again, search for “Bars Hosting UFC” or “UFC Bar Locator”. Even though it’s boxing, sometimes they show it at the same places, I guess. These city folks and their fancy ways.
So, that’s about all I know about findin’ out who’s boxin’ tonight. It ain’t easy, but if you look around, ask around, you’ll figure it out. Just gotta be persistent, like a rooster lookin’ for a hen.
