Well now, if ya ask me, one of the best things ever made for the PS2 was that ol’ WWE SmackDown vs Raw 2007 game. The thing was somethin’ else, and for sure, it’ll make ya remember all them good ol’ days of watchin’ wrestlin’ on the TV. It had the best graphics for its time, no doubt about it. For the PS2, it was about as good as it gets, and don’t let anyone tell ya otherwise! It was all about the gameplay and those fine details that made it stick with ya.
Now, one thing that stood out was that story mode. Folks loved that part! It had all them great storylines, and the GM Mode, well, that was somethin’ new, wasn’t it? They never had nothin’ like that before. You could run the show, call the shots, and decide who’d be the big star. The roster was packed full of all them famous wrestlers, and I reckon that’s what kept people comin’ back. You could put together your own custom matches and make sure that locker room was just how ya liked it. Couldn’t beat that!

Now, back in them days, we didn’t have them fancy new PlayStation 3 consoles yet, but boy, there was supposed to be a version of SmackDown vs Raw 2007 for that one too. But, well, you know how it goes with new systems, don’t ya? They never quite get it right at first. That PS3 was still learnin’ how to handle games, and that version of the game got cancelled. A real shame too, ‘cause I reckon it coulda been somethin’ special.
But let me tell ya, the CAWs (Create-A-Wrestler, for those who ain’t familiar) in that game were a big hit too. You could make your own wrestlers, deck ‘em out however ya wanted, and then toss ‘em in the ring. Some folks got real creative with that, makin’ all kinds of wild characters. There were about 30 slots for them CAWs, and I reckon if you used up all them slots, you’d have a whole new roster of wrestlers to work with!
It’s funny, ’cause back then, there was a bit of a competition goin’ on between the different consoles. On the Xbox, they let ya have 64 layers for your CAWs, while the PS2 and other versions only had 32. So, if you were on the PS2, you had to be real careful with how much you put on ‘em, or else it wouldn’t fit. I swear, some folks would get real picky about that and would spend hours just tryin’ to make sure their custom wrestler looked perfect. It was a whole art, ya know?
Folks had their own little communities too, all around the WWE SmackDown vs Raw 2007 game. I remember folks would share all their creations online, and some even made special patches and save files. Y’all could download ‘em and have access to a whole bunch of unlockables that you couldn’t get by just playin’ the game regular. Kinda like a shortcut to the good stuff! That made it real fun for people who didn’t wanna spend all day unlockin’ things themselves.
Now, if you was wonderin’ whether you should pick SmackDown or Raw for your Season Mode, well, I reckon that was a tough call. Both of ‘em had their good points. SmackDown had them two big storylines, and Raw was always known for being a little wild. It just depended on what kind of action you wanted in the ring! Either way, it was a real treat for fans of that good ol’ wrestling action.
And let’s not forget the soundtrack! Now, I don’t know ‘bout you, but that music in the game, it really pumped ya up, didn’t it? It’s like you could feel the energy just from listenin’ to the tunes. Every time them wrestlers came down to the ring, you knew somethin’ big was gonna happen!

All in all, WWE SmackDown vs Raw 2007 was a real gem for its time. The gameplay, the custom wrestlers, the roster, and the modes they put in there made it stand out. Even though they didn’t make that PS3 version, the PS2 version still holds a special place in many people’s hearts. It gave us hours of fun, whether we was playin’ alone or with friends. Heck, I reckon some folks still go back and play it today, just for the memories of those good ol’ days.
