Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into the world of Formula 1 lately, and I got curious about which tracks are considered the “worst.” Not necessarily because they’re bad, but maybe boring, or just not that exciting to watch races on. So, I started digging around.
My Little Research Project
First, I hit up some F1 forums and fan pages. I wanted to see what the general consensus was, you know, what tracks kept popping up in the “least favorite” discussions. I made a list of the tracks that were mentioned most often.

Then, I started watching some old races on these tracks. I figured, maybe there’s something I’m missing, some hidden excitement that people overlook. I wanted to see for myself if these tracks were truly as dull as everyone said.
- I spent hours watching races, mostly focusing on overtakes, or the lack thereof.
- I paid attention to the track layout, how many tight corners there were, and how wide the track was.
- I took notes, just like I was back in school, jotting down my thoughts and observations.
What I Found Out
After all that watching and note-taking, I started to see some patterns. Some tracks, yeah, they were pretty processional. Not a lot of passing, just cars following each other around. Others had moments of excitement, but they were few and far between.
I realized that what makes a track “bad” is pretty subjective. Some people love the technical challenge of a track like Monaco, even if there’s not much overtaking. Others want to see wheel-to-wheel battles, and they don’t care if the track is a bit simple. In my opinion, the tracks that were mentioned most often were:
- Sochi Autodrom
- Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya
- Yas Marina Circuit
I ended up with my own little ranking of tracks, based on my very unscientific research. It’s all just for fun, of course. But it definitely made me appreciate the good tracks even more!
