So, I was playing baseball last weekend, and man, did it rain! My glove got soaked. I was kinda bummed, thinking it was ruined. But then I thought, “Nah, there’s gotta be a way to fix this.” So, I did what anyone would do – I started experimenting.
First things first, I shook off as much water as I could. I mean, I really gave it a good shake, like a wet dog. Then I grabbed a clean towel – actually, a few towels – and started patting it down. I patted the outside, patted the inside, just trying to soak up all that extra water. I even changed towels a couple of times to make sure I was getting as much moisture out as possible.

After that, I remembered reading something about using steam, but I didn’t want to mess up the glove. So I just let it sit there on a towel. I figured that was probably the safest bet. And wouldn’t you know it, after some time, it was dry! I was pretty stoked. This was my best glove that I used for years. I was so happy I did not give up on it.
Here is what I did in the list:
- Shook off the excess water.
- Used multiple towels to pat down the inside and outside of the glove.
- Avoided using steam or anything that could damage it.
- Just let it air dry naturally.
It is not rocket science, but it worked. My glove is back in action, and I did not have to buy a new one. If your glove gets wet, don’t panic. Just follow these simple steps, and you’ll be good to go. It is so easy, you know. Just take your time and be patient. Let me know if this works for you!
