Them basketball fellas in the NBA, they ain’t doin’ too bad neither, but it ain’t the same. They’re makin’ somethin’ like 12 billion. That’s still a pile of cash, mind you, but it ain’t 25 billion. That football money is just somethin’ else.
Now, why is that, you ask? Well, it seems like more folks like watchin’ football. Lots and lots more folks. They say the TV ratings for football are way higher than for basketball. Everybody and their brother is watchin’ them football games. And when more people watch, more money comes in from them commercials and such. That’s just how it works, I guess.

- More money from TV means bigger paychecks for the players.
- Bigger paychecks make them football fellas richer than them basketball fellas.
I heard tell that the best basketball players, them big tall centers, they make about 15 million dollars a year. That’s a lot of money, no doubt about it. But them football fellas, some of them are makin’ even more. It all depends on how good you are, I reckon. The better you are, the more money you make. That’s just common sense, ain’t it?
And it ain’t just the players that are gettin’ rich. The teams themselves are worth a whole bunch of money too. Them football teams, they’re worth more than the basketball teams. I heard someone say that a football team is worth, on average, way more than a basketball team. It’s all about the money, honey. That’s what makes the world go ’round these days.
So, to sum it all up, them football fellas in the NFL, they’re makin’ way more money than them basketball fellas in the NBA.
