Okay, folks, let’s dive into something I messed around with today – calling for the ball in College Football 25. I’m no expert, but I figured it out, so I thought I’d share my stumbling journey.
Figuring Out the Controls
First things first, I had to, you know, actually find the button. I hopped into a practice game, just me against the air, basically. I’m playing on PlayStation, so that’s my frame of reference here.
I started hitting random buttons. No luck. Mashed the triggers, nothing. Okay, maybe this is more complicated than I thought.
Then, by chance, I hit the X button(it might be A on Xbox, don’t quote me), at the sametime,i pressed R1. And boom,my player start waving hands,I can pass the ball easier.
Timing is Everything
So, I found the button, great. But just spamming it doesn’t work. It’s like real life, I guess. You gotta time it right.
I noticed, through a lot of trial and error (mostly error), that the best time to call for it is when you’re,like, actually open.
- Early Call:If I call for it too early, while I’m still covered, the quarterback just ignores me.
- Late Call: If I’m wide open, but I wait too long, the quarterback’s already moved on to his next read, and I’m just standing there like a doofus.
- Just Right:The sweet spot seems to be right as I’m breaking free from the defender. That’s when the quarterback is most likely to see me and get me the ball.
Putting it All Together
After, like, an hour of messing around, I started to get the hang of it. It’s not just about hitting the button, it’s about reading the defense, finding the open space, and then calling for the ball at the perfect moment.
It definitely made the game more fun, more engaging. I felt more in control of my receiver, rather than just running routes and hoping for the best. So, give it a shot, practice a bit, and see if you can add this little trick to your game!
