Well, folks, here’s a little talk about the game between San Jose Earthquakes and Chicago Fire FC. It was a big ol’ match where players gave it their all. Let’s go through the players and see how each one of ‘em did out there on the field. Folks always wanna know who’s shining and who might need a little more practice, right?
San Jose Earthquakes Player Ratings

- Hernan Lopez – 8/10: This young fella really brought the game up a notch, scoring the only goal in the 49th minute. That’s what gave the Earthquakes their win, I tell ya. Good ol’ Hernan knew just where to kick that ball.
- JT Marcinkowski – 7/10: Now, here’s a goalie you can count on. Kept that net pretty much sealed up, so the Fire couldn’t get through. Made a couple solid saves that kept the game tight and the Fire frustrated.
- Carlos Akapo – 6.5/10: Carlos was steady in defense, nothin’ flashy, but he got the job done. Played with a lot of grit, helping keep the Fire at bay. Did his bit, that’s for sure.
- Paul Marie – 6/10: Did alright in defense. Covered his area and blocked a few shots, but wasn’t as standout as some of the others. Still, he put in the hard work.
- Jackson Yueill – 7/10: Moved the ball around nice and smooth. Jackson helped get things going on the field, passing left and right, keeping the Fire from getting comfortable. He knew what he was doin’ out there.
- Cristian Espinoza – 7.5/10: Now, Espinoza is one player you don’t forget. Real sharp and quick, he pushed the game forward. Got a few good crosses in too. You could tell he was itching for a goal himself.
Chicago Fire FC Player Ratings
- Chris Brady – 6.5/10: Well, this young fella in goal did his best, but couldn’t stop Lopez’s shot. Still made a few good saves, so don’t count him out. He’ll get better with time, for sure.
- Rafael Czichos – 6/10: He’s the backbone of the defense, but this time, he had his hands full with San Jose pushing hard. Did his best, but they couldn’t stop that one goal, which is what cost ‘em.
- Federico Navarro – 5.5/10: Navarro had a rough time keeping up. Looked a bit lost at moments, especially when San Jose got quick with their passes. He’ll need to step it up next game.
- Brian Gutierrez – 6.5/10: This fella did a decent job. Ran up and down, trying to make something happen, but just didn’t have the space to shine. Still, gotta give him credit for the hustle.
- Maren Haile-Selassie – 7/10: Now, he was one of the brighter spots for the Fire. Real determined and tried to create chances, but it wasn’t enough to pull ‘em through.
- Kacper Przybylko – 5.5/10: Had a few opportunities, but just couldn’t get the ball in the net. It was one of those off days for him, folks. We’ve all been there.
Well, there ya have it! That’s how the players stacked up. In the end, it was San Jose Earthquakes who took the victory with that one single goal. Sometimes, it just takes one good kick to turn the game around. Both teams played their hearts out, but San Jose wanted it just a bit more this time.
Next time these two teams meet, who knows what’ll happen? That’s the beauty of it – you never can tell. Fans of both sides will be watching close, that’s for sure!
