Today, I decided to dive into the latest NBA 2K game, NBA 2K24, and see what this whole “Season” thing is all about. I had heard some buzz about it, figured it’s time to check it out myself.
So, first thing I did was fire up the game. The menus were pretty much what I expected, you know, the usual MyCareer, MyTeam, and all that. But then I noticed something about a Season Pass. Intrigued, I started poking around.

Turns out, this Season Pass is like a progress tracker, kind of like those battle passes in other games. It’s got levels, and you level up by earning XP. Simple enough, right? I saw that you can earn XP by playing games, completing quests, and stuff like that. The more you play, the more you level up, the more rewards you get.
There are two options for this Season Pass: Pro and Hall of Fame. I didn’t look too much into those yet.
- Started exploring the different game modes.
- Played a few MyCareer games.
- Tried my hand at MyTeam.
In MyCareer, I noticed there were these things called “rival games” against other NBA players. Played a couple of those, and they were pretty intense. There’s also something about “GOAT points” you can get from side quests, which sounds cool. And generational games? That’s a new one. Sounds like you build up your family’s legacy in the game.
I also dipped my toes into MyTeam. Built up a decent squad, played a few matches. Nothing too crazy, but it was fun. I noticed that the Season Pass progress is tied to both MyCareer and MyTeam, so you can level it up by playing either mode. That’s pretty neat, I guess.
I haven’t really gotten into the nitty-gritty of the Season Pass rewards yet. From what I saw, they’ve got some gear and cosmetics, and at level 40, you get some kind of special vehicle.
Later on, I found out that the whole Season thing is tied to the actual NBA season. Every six weeks, a new Season starts in the game, just like in real life. And this year, they’ve got the first-ever In-Season Tournament in the game, just like the NBA. I thought about playing and winning the NBA Cup, but I didn’t get around to it yet.

Summary of my experience
So that’s basically my day with NBA 2K24 Seasons. Played some games, checked out the Season Pass, and got a feel for how it all works. It’s a pretty cool system, I guess. Keeps things fresh and gives you something to work towards. I’ll probably keep playing and see what other rewards I can snag. It is a good day.
