Okay, so I wanted to look decent for my tennis match the other day, but honestly, I’m no pro. I just wanted to be comfy and not look like a total idiot out there. Here’s how I went about it:
Figuring Out the Basics
First, I dug through my closet. I knew I needed something breathable, because, you know, sweat. I avoided anything cotton, because that stuff just sticks to you when you get all sweaty.

- Shirt: I found this old athletic shirt I used for running. It’s some kind of wicking material, so I figured it would do the trick. It’s light-colored, too, which helps with the sun.
- Shorts: I grabbed a pair of regular athletic shorts. Nothing fancy, just something that lets me move around easily. I made sure they had pockets, because where else am I going to put the extra balls?
Shoes and Socks – Don’t Mess This Up!
I only have all perpose sport shoes, It’s must be non-marking, though, or you’ll scuff up the court.
For socks, I just picked some ankle-high athletic socks. Again, nothing special, just something to keep my feet from getting blisters.
Sun Protection is Key
Since I play outdoors, I knew I needed to protect myself from the sun. So I will do those:
- Hat: I grabbed a baseball cap to keep the sun out of my eyes. A visor would work too.
- Sunscreen: This is a must. I slathered on some SPF 30 before I even left the house.
The Final Touches
I don’t use it, but I saw some player using Wristbands.

The Result
So, I headed to the court, feeling pretty good about my outfit. I wasn’t going to win any fashion awards, but I was comfortable, I could move freely, and I didn’t feel like I was sticking out like a sore thumb. Mission accomplished!
