Okay, so, I’ve always wanted to draw one of those super cool F1 cars. You know, the ones that go zoomin’ around the track at like a million miles an hour? Yeah, those. I figured, why not give it a shot?
First off, I gotta say, I’m no artist. My stick figures look more like abstract art, but I was determined. I grabbed my trusty sketchbook, a pencil, and an eraser (which, let’s be honest, I knew I’d be using a lot).

I started by looking up some pictures of F1 cars online. Man, those things are complex! But I figured I’d start with the basics. I tried to break it down into simple shapes, like, the body is kinda like a long rectangle, right? And the wheels are just circles. Easy peasy.
So, I drew a long, kinda wonky rectangle for the body. It wasn’t perfect, but hey, it was a start. Then, I added two circles for the wheels. They were a bit lopsided, but I figured I could fix that later. I then sketched out the cockpit, which is that little bubble where the driver sits. And I drew a curved line for the car’s nose.
Next up, the spoiler. That’s the wing-thingy at the back, right? I drew a rectangle-ish shape and attached it to the back of the car. Then the front wing, which is a bit trickier. I drew a few curved lines and hoped for the best.
I spent a good chunk of time erasing and redrawing, erasing and redrawing. My eraser got a serious workout! But slowly, bit by bit, the car started to take shape. I added some lines for the sidepods, those things that stick out on the sides. And I drew a little fin on the top, just like the real cars have.
After a while, I stepped back to look at my masterpiece. It wasn’t perfect, not by a long shot. It looked more like a beat-up go-kart than an F1 car, to be honest. But you know what? I was proud of it. I drew it! I actually sat down and created something.
- Started with basic shapes.
- Added details like the cockpit, spoiler, and front wing.
- Erased and redrew a lot.
- Ended up with a wonky but recognizable F1 car.
It was a fun little project, and it definitely gave me a new appreciation for the folks who design and draw these things for real. Maybe I’ll try it again sometime, and who knows, maybe my next F1 car drawing will actually look like an F1 car!
