Okay, so, I wanted to try drawing something new, and I thought, why not a baseball jersey? It looked simple enough in my head, but, you know, things are never as easy as they seem.
First, I gathered my stuff. Just a regular pencil, an eraser, and a piece of paper. I didn’t even bother with a ruler because I figured I’d just sketch it out roughly. I started with a rectangle for the main body of the jersey. Nothing fancy, just a basic shape to get me going.

Then, I drew two lines coming down from the top corners of the rectangle at an angle to make the sleeves. They looked a bit wonky at first, but I adjusted them a couple of times until they seemed okay. I mean, it’s a drawing, it doesn’t have to be perfect, right?
- Add the collar. I drew it freehand, a simple curve at the top of the rectangle.
- Draw the buttons. Just a few small circles down the front. This was surprisingly satisfying.
- Add some details. I drew a few lines on the sleeves to make them look more like, well, sleeves.
I stepped back to look at my masterpiece. It was, uh, interesting. Definitely looked like a jersey, albeit a very basic one. I decided to add a number on the back, just to give it some personality. I went with “23” because, you know, it is the best number ever.
I shaded it in a bit to make it look a little more three-dimensional. I’m no artist, but I think it turned out alright.
Lastly, I added a team name across the front. I went with “Rockets” because it sounded cool. I tried to make the letters look all fancy, but they ended up looking a bit childish. Oh well, it’s the effort that counts, right?
So there you have it, my attempt at drawing a baseball jersey. It was a fun little project, and I might even try it again sometime. Maybe next time I’ll use a ruler, or even some colors. Who knows, I might become a pro jersey designer.
In conclusion
If you’re looking for a simple drawing project, give this a try. It’s not too hard, and you can get creative with the design. Just don’t expect to become the next Picasso overnight.
