Okay, folks, let’s talk about ditching that NFL Sunday Ticket through Verizon. I had to do this recently, and it wasn’t as straightforward as I hoped, so I figured I’d walk you through my experience.
My Battle with the NFL Sunday Ticket Cancellation
First things first, I went straight to the Verizon website. I figured, “Hey, I signed up through them, I should be able to cancel through them, right?” Wrong. I poked around everywhere. My account, the support pages, you name it. Nothing. Lots of info on how to get Sunday Ticket, zero on how to get rid of it.
So, I got a little annoyed. I mean, come on, Verizon! Make it a little easier to find, please!
Next, I was searching on google, I was hoping to find some help information.
After some searching and digging, I finally figured out the trick, and it is not go through Verizon way.
I jumped onto the phone. Called up the support. After navigating through the usual automated menus (you know the drill: “Press 1 for this, press 2 for that…”), I finally got a real, live human.
I explained my situation, told them I was done with Sunday Ticket for the season, and wanted it canceled. Make sure you are very clear!
The rep was helpful, thankfully. He confirmed my request and then they had to put me on hold for a bit. Classic. It took several minutes. It felt like forever, because I had already tried every I can do, the verizon app, verizon website…
Finally! the rep came back and confirmed the cancellation.
And that was it! No more Sunday Ticket. No more surprise charges. Freedom!
