Alright, so you’re itchin’ to know why that darn Fox ain’t showin’ football today, huh? Well, lemme tell ya, it ain’t always as simple as flickin’ a switch. Sometimes these things get complicated, like tryin’ to thread a needle with shaky hands.
First off, Fox, they got their own schedule, ya know? They ain’t just playin’ football all day, every day. They got other stuff, like maybe that show with the singin’ and dancin’, or that one with all the crime and detectives. So, maybe today just ain’t a football day on Fox. It’s like when you got chores to do, you can’t just sit around watchin’ the birds all day.

And then, there’s this whole deal with the NFL games and who gets to show ’em. See, Fox, they got a contract, a deal with the football fellas. But it ain’t the only channel, ya know? There’s CBS, and NBC, and that ESPN bunch too. They all want a piece of the pie. So, maybe today, it’s CBS or somebody else’s turn to show the game. It’s like when you’re sharin’ a cake, not everybody gets the biggest slice.
- Maybe it’s not Sunday: Most of them football games, they’re on Sundays. If it’s a Tuesday or somethin’, well, chances are you ain’t gonna see no football on Fox. That’s just the way it is.
- Maybe it’s the off-season: Them football players, they ain’t machines, ya know? They need a break too. So, there’s a time when they ain’t playin’ no games. And when they ain’t playin’, well, there ain’t nothin’ to show on TV.
- Thursday Night Football moved: Used to be, Fox showed games on Thursday nights too. But that changed, they don’t do that no more. So, if you’re lookin’ for football on a Thursday night, you gotta look somewhere else. It’s like lookin’ for eggs in the pantry, they ain’t there, they’re in the fridge.
Now, if you’re really itchin’ to watch a game, you gotta figure out where it’s bein’ shown. Sometimes it’s on that Fox Sports website, or their app, whatever that is. But even then, you gotta have Fox as part of your TV thingy, or it won’t work. It’s like tryin’ to open a door without a key.
And you gotta have the right channels, ya know? Like, if you got that DirectTV or that XFinity or whatever they call it, then you might be good. But if you just got that antenna thingy on your roof, well, you might not get all the channels. It’s like havin’ a garden, you gotta have the right soil for things to grow.
Another thing, sometimes them games are on that NFL+ thing. I don’t know much about that, sounds fancy. But I hear you gotta pay for it. And I ain’t payin’ extra just to watch some fellas runnin’ around with a ball. That’s just plain silly.
So, if Fox ain’t showin’ the game, it could be a whole bunch of reasons. Maybe it ain’t the right day, or maybe another channel got it, or maybe you just ain’t lookin’ in the right place. It’s like lookin’ for your glasses, sometimes they’re right on your nose!
And honestly, sometimes it’s just too much trouble. I’d rather sit on the porch and watch the squirrels fight over nuts. That’s good entertainment, and it’s free!

But if you’re really set on watchin’ that football, you gotta do some diggin’. Check them TV listings, see what channel’s got the game. And if you can’t find it, well, maybe it just ain’t meant to be. There’s always tomorrow, ya know?
Sometimes I think they just like to make things complicated, just to keep us on our toes. But me, I like things simple. Football on Sunday, pie on the windowsill, and a good nap in the afternoon. That’s the life.
So, don’t get yourself all worked up about it. If Fox ain’t showin’ football today, there’s probably a good reason. Go do somethin’ else, read a book, bake a cake, call your grandkids. Life’s too short to worry about what’s on TV.
But then again, if you can figure out all that mumbo jumbo with the websites and apps, good on ya, you are way better at this than me. But if you need me for cooking, I would be happy to help you with that. And do not give me too much of those internet thing, it just confuses me. Just give me a call if you need me. And if not, well, then I will just have some pie and call it a day.
