Alright, let’s talk about them basketball fellas, the ones in the NBA, who are Jehovah’s Witnesses. You know, them folks who go door-to-door talkin’ ’bout the Bible? Yeah, them. So, who in the NBA is one of them? That’s what we’re gonna figure out.
Well, from what I hear, there ain’t a whole bunch of ’em. It’s not like every other player you see is carryin’ a Bible and knockin’ on doors. But there are a few, and some used to play, that people talk about.

Dewayne Dedmon, that fella, he’s one of ’em. Plays for the Miami Heat now, big fella, strong as an ox. They say he’s a Jehovah’s Witness. He believes in that stuff, goes to meetings and all that. Good for him, I guess. He’s gotta believe in somethin’, right?
Then there’s these other two fellas, used to play for the Indiana Pacers. Danny Granger and Darren Collison, they say they’re Witnesses too. Granger, he was a good shooter, real smooth. Collison, quick little fella, good with the ball. Both of ’em, Witnesses. Don’t play no more, though. Retired or somethin’. Guess they got tired of runnin’ up and down the court.

- Darren Collison (Former Indiana Pacers Player)
Now, some folks might ask, how do they do it? You know, playin’ basketball and bein’ a Witness? It ain’t easy, I tell ya. They gotta travel all the time, games here, games there. Hard to keep up with the meetings and all that Bible study. But they manage somehow. Guess they’re dedicated, those fellas.
I heard tell that being a Jehovah’s Witness means you can’t celebrate certain holidays, like Christmas or birthdays. Can’t do blood transfusions neither. That’s gotta be tough, especially when you’re a basketball player, always gettin’ banged up and whatnot. But they stick to their beliefs, gotta give ’em credit for that.
There might be others, you know, players who are Witnesses but don’t talk about it much. It’s their business, I reckon. Ain’t nobody gotta go around shoutin’ about what they believe in. But these three fellas, Dedmon, Granger, and Collison, they’re the ones people know about.
Jehovah’s Witness NBA Players ain’t somethin’ you hear about every day. It’s not like it’s a big thing in the league or nothin’. But it’s interesting, you know? Shows you that people from all walks of life, even famous basketball players, can believe in different things.

So, there you have it. Three NBA players, past and present, who are Jehovah’s Witnesses. Dedmon, Granger, and Collison. Good players, all of ’em. And they believe in somethin’ bigger than basketball. Can’t fault ’em for that. Everybody’s gotta believe in somethin’, right? Whether it’s God, or basketball, or just plain good luck, you gotta have somethin’ to keep you goin’.
And that’s the long and short of it. Not a whole lot of ’em, but a few. NBA Players and Religion, it’s a thing, I guess. Just like everybody else, they got their beliefs. And good for them, I say. Good for them.
Now, I don’t know much about basketball, to be honest. I prefer watchin’ the chickens peck around the yard. But I heard folks talkin’ about these players, and I thought I’d share what I know. So there it is. Take it or leave it.
And remember, it ain’t about what you believe, it’s about bein’ a good person. That’s what my mama always told me, and it’s stuck with me all these years. You treat folks right, and you do what you think is right, and that’s all that matters in this world. Whether you’re a basketball player or just an old woman like me.
