Well, folks, there’s some talk going ’round ’bout John Calipari bringin’ his son Brad to Arkansas. Now, if ya don’t know, John, he’s a big shot in basketball, just took over as the head coach for the Arkansas Razorbacks. Folks say he might be settlin’ down in Arkansas with Brad, his son, and makin’ him part of his staff. Ain’t no big surprise there, since father and son always seem to stick together, ya know?
Word is, John’s already paid a pretty penny for a house over in Fayetteville. Some folks are sayin’ it’s a $2.2 million home in some fancy place called Clear Creek. Must be nice, but I reckon if you’re coachin’ big-time ball, that’s the kind of house you get, right? Anyway, Brad, his son, ain’t just sittin’ around. They say he’s gonna be joinin’ the Arkansas staff for the 2024-25 season. He’s got a role as an assistant coach or somethin’ fancy like that, helpin’ with player development. It sure sounds like Brad’s got a good spot carved out for himself.

Now, this ain’t the first time folks been talkin’ ’bout Brad workin’ with his daddy. Matter of fact, they been expectin’ this for a while now. Brad used to have a job in player development elsewhere, and looks like he’s bringin’ that same role to Arkansas. People who follow basketball real close probably knew this was comin’. You know, family sticks together in these big sports jobs. If your dad’s got the keys to the castle, you’re bound to get a piece of the pie too.
John Calipari’s been buildin’ his staff, and it seems Brad ain’t the only new face. There’s talk ’bout a few other folks joinin’ too—Kenny Payne, Chin Coleman, and Chuck Martin. Seems like John’s gettin’ a whole bunch of folks ready to help him win some games. They’re all workin’ together, and who knows, maybe this team is gonna do somethin’ big next season. Heck, there’s even word that Tyler Ulis, a former player under John at Kentucky, is comin’ along too.
Brad’s role, they say, is gonna be important. He’s takin’ on the player development side of things, which is fancy talk for helpin’ them young players get better on the court. It ain’t an easy job, but if anyone’s up for it, I reckon it’s Brad. After all, he’s been around basketball his whole life, followin’ his daddy’s footsteps, learnin’ the ropes. People might think he’s just gettin’ the job ’cause he’s John’s son, but truth is, he knows his stuff. Folks say Brad’s done a good job before, and they expect him to do the same at Arkansas.
Now, John’s no stranger to buildin’ successful teams, and with Brad by his side, they’re hopin’ to bring some of that Kentucky magic over to Arkansas. It ain’t easy, though, ‘cause basketball’s tough, and every team wants to win. But I reckon with Brad workin’ on player development and John leadin’ the way, the Razorbacks just might have a good shot at doin’ somethin’ special this season. Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
So, in short, looks like John Calipari’s bringin’ his son Brad along for the ride at Arkansas. They’re both settlin’ in, buildin’ the staff, and gearin’ up for a new season. Whether they can make magic happen, only time will tell. But I reckon it’s gonna be mighty interestin’ to watch what happens next.
