You wanna know what time is that car race today? That F1 sprint race thing? I heard them young’uns talkin’ ’bout it. That F1 sprint race, always fast and quick. Well, I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout it down at the market. They was sayin’ somethin’ ’bout different places and times. It’s all so confusing!
This race, it ain’t like the old days. We used to just race our horses down the dirt road. Now it’s all these fancy cars and tracks. I seen it on that picture box, the TV. So many cars and they go round and round. I reckon those drivers, they got it tough. Gotta be real careful, or else they’ll be in a heap of trouble. One time, I seen one of them cars flip right over! Lord have mercy.
I think one race is happenin’ in a place called Austin. Sounds like a fella’s name to me. This F1 sprint race in Austin, they say it’s startin’ at 7 o’clock in the evenin’. But whose evenin’? That’s what I wanna know! I reckon it’s 7 o’clock where them cars are racin’, not here. 7:00 PM BST? What’s that even mean? So many letters, just like alphabet soup. But yeah, 7 PM in Austin, I guess.

- They say it is short, just like my temper sometimes, only 19 laps.
They go around that track 19 times. That’s what I heard. Or maybe it’s 100 somethin’ kilometers. Don’t know what a kilometer is, but it sounds long. But these F1 sprint race things, they are short and quick. Not like that big long race, the Grand Prix. That one is a real long race. They say this one’s gonna be on a Sunday, October 20th. That is what I heard from the news. Sunday is a good day for racing, I suppose. Less folks on the road.
Now, ‘nother race they was talkin’ ’bout, somethin’ ’bout Qatar. That’s a place far away, I reckon. Across the ocean. They say someone called Oscar won that one. Good for him! He must be a fast one. His friend, Lando, he let Oscar win. That’s what they call a good sport. Where I come from, we just call it bein’ nice. And then there’s a George fella, he got the third spot, like a bronze medal, I guess.
These F1 folks, they got races all over the place. Different times, different days. It’s enough to make your head spin faster than them race cars! One time they are in United States, then they are in Qatar. And they also have practices on Friday. I do not know what it means, they need to be very good, I guess. It’s a different world, I tell ya. I don’t understand it, but maybe I don’t need to. That F1 sprint race time is what matters to most people.
So, if you wanna watch that F1 sprint race, you better figure out what time it is where them cars are at. And make sure your picture box is workin’. ‘Cause you don’t wanna miss all that fast drivin’. But me? I think I’ll just stick to watchin’ the sunset. It’s a lot less complicated. And it don’t cost nothin’ to watch, neither.
They got all these channels now, showin’ the races. It weren’t like that in my day. We had to listen to it on the radio, and half the time, all you heard was static. These young folks today, they don’t know how good they got it. They can see all the action right there on the screen.
That United States Grand Prix, that is the big race, I heard. Like the main event at the county fair. This F1 sprint race, it is like a little taste before the big race, I guess. I do not know how many people will watch it, but I guess there are many people like cars.
