Well now, let me tell ya about them Timberwolves back in 2011. It’s been a while, but I remember some things, even if it ain’t crystal clear like it used to be. Now, them Timberwolves, they had a team that year, though they didn’t go too far, I reckon. But still, they played hard, and there were some good folks on that roster. Let’s see if I can jog my memory a bit, tell ya about it.
Kevin Love was one of the biggest names back in 2011. He was all over the place, grabbing rebounds like he owned the court. Big fella, and could score, too. He was one of them fellas who didn’t mind putting in the work. He was the one who carried a lot of the load that season. Everybody in the NBA knew him, I reckon.

Then there was Michael Beasley, who could score when he wanted to. He had his moments, for sure. A bit up and down, but on a good day, he could light up the scoreboard. He wasn’t the most consistent, but when he was on, he sure could play.
Ricky Rubio, the Spanish fella, he came over from across the water in 2011. Didn’t play a whole lot, but folks said he had some skills, especially with them passes. He wasn’t no superstar that year, but you could see the potential, if you knew what you was lookin’ for.
Then we had Luke Ridnour at point guard. Now, he wasn’t the flashiest player, but he did what needed doin’. A steady hand on the ball, though he wasn’t much of a scorer. But that’s alright, sometimes you just need someone to keep things under control, y’know?
There was also Darko Miličić. Now, this fella was something else. Tall as a tree, but boy, he didn’t show up all that much. Couldn’t say he was much of a factor, but he sure did take up space on the court. Ain’t much to say about him except he was there, sort of like that one chair at the kitchen table that nobody sits in.
And let’s not forget Wes Johnson, a young fella who came from Syracuse. He had some good skills, but he didn’t quite get there, at least not in 2011. He tried, bless his heart, but the Timberwolves didn’t exactly see the results they were hopin’ for.
Kevin Love aside, there wasn’t a whole lot of star power that year, but like I said, they worked hard. They tried, and in a way, that’s what counts. They didn’t have the best record, but they had some young folks, and a few veterans, trying to find their way. Ended up with 26 wins and 40 losses, which ain’t great, but it was a step up from previous years, I suppose.

One thing’s for sure, the Timberwolves wasn’t a championship team in 2011. But they were startin’ to put things together, and folks could see that. They might not have gone far, but the groundwork for a better future was being laid down, little by little. I reckon they needed more time to really put it together.
The Bench and Other Players
Some other fellas were hangin’ around, tryin’ to make their mark. There was Anthony Tolliver, a decent player who could hit a shot or two. Then there was Nikola Peković, a big ol’ fella from over in Montenegro, who worked hard inside. Ain’t nobody gonna mistake him for a ballerina, but he sure could bang around in the paint. And then you had some role players, like Wayne Ellington and Malcolm Lee, who didn’t get too much spotlight but still helped out when needed.
The Coach
As for the coach, it was Rick Adelman who was tryin’ to make it work. He was a seasoned coach with lots of experience, and folks thought maybe he could work some magic with the team. But even with him at the helm, 2011 wasn’t the year they broke through. Sometimes, it takes a while for things to come together, and that’s just how it went. But Rick wasn’t no rookie, so there was hope for the future.

So, that’s what I remember about the 2011 Timberwolves. Ain’t no championship, but there were some good players and some hard work. Couldn’t say it was a successful season, but it sure wasn’t a disaster either. Just one of them years where things were startin’ to come together, even if the results didn’t quite show up. Maybe next year, they’d do better. Who knows, huh?
Anyhow, that’s enough ramblin’ from me about them Timberwolves. Maybe next time, I’ll talk about how things turned out later on. Maybe they got better, maybe they didn’t. Guess we’ll see, won’t we?
