Howdy folks, let’s jaw about listenin’ to them Auburn football games. You know, it ain’t always easy like fallin’ off a log. Sometimes it’s a real pain in the neck, but I’m gonna tell ya how to do it, no matter what.
First off, if you got one of them newfangled radios, that’s a good start. You know, the ones with all them buttons and whatnot. You gotta find the right station, though. Around here, it’s usually on somethin’ like 103.9 or somethin’ like that. They always jabberin’ on about it beforehand, so just listen for them fellas talkin’ ’bout the Tigers.
But, hold on, sometimes that ain’t enough. If you’re out in the boonies, fishin’ or somethin’, the radio might not work too good. Then you gotta try somethin’ else.
Now, I hear tell of somethin’ called the “TuneIn.” Sounds fancy, don’t it? They say you can listen to the games on your phone or your computer with it. I ain’t too sure how it works, but my grandson showed me once. You gotta download somethin’, I think, and then find the right channel. They call it the “Auburn Tigers Sports Network” or somethin’ like that. It’s supposed to be pretty good, though, ’cause you can listen anywhere, even if you’re halfway across the country.
- Radio: Find the right station, usually around 103.9. Listen for the fellas talkin’ ’bout the Tigers.
- TuneIn: Download the app on your phone or computer. Search for “Auburn Tigers Sports Network.” You can listen anywhere.
And then there’s this “SiriusXM” thing. I ain’t got no idea what that is, sounds like somethin’ from outer space, but they say it’s got the games too. Apparently, you gotta pay for it, though, which seems like a waste of good money to me. But if you’re one of them city folks with money to burn, maybe it’s worth it. They say Alabama fans got their own channel, and Auburn’s got another one. Channel 81 for them elephants and 192 for us Tigers, or so I’m told.
Now, sometimes, even with all that fancy stuff, things go wrong. The radio might get staticky, the internet might go out, or them fellas talkin’ on the radio might just be plain awful. Don’t you worry none, though. There’s always somethin’ you can do.
You can try findin’ a bar or a restaurant that’s playin’ the game. Around here, most places got it on if the Tigers are playin’. Just belly up to the bar, order yourself a sweet tea, and watch the game with all the other folks. It’s a good way to meet people and have a good time, even if the Tigers ain’t doin’ so hot.
And if all else fails, well, you can always just wait ’til the game’s over and read about it in the newspaper. Or ask your neighbor, they probably heard it. Or heck, just wait for the highlights on the TV news. It ain’t the same as listenin’ live, but it’s better than nothin’.
So, there you have it, folks. That’s how you listen to Auburn football. It ain’t always easy, but it’s always worth it. ‘Cause there ain’t nothin’ like hearin’ them Tigers roar on a Saturday afternoon. War Eagle!
One more thing, if you’re goin’ to the game itself, well, you don’t need to listen to nothin’! Just go on and enjoy the atmosphere, smell the grass and hear the crowd. That’s the best way to experience it, let me tell you. But if you can’t make it, or if you’re stuck at home, just remember what I told ya. Radio, TuneIn, SiriusXM, or even just findin’ a friendly bar. There’s always a way to hear the game, no matter what.
Remember, too, these fellas on the radio, they love to talk. Sometimes too much, if you ask me. But they’ll tell you all about the plays, the scores and everything that’s going on. Just listen close and you’ll feel like you’re right there in the stadium, even if you’re miles away.
One final tip: make sure you got plenty of snacks and drinks on hand. Listenin’ to football can be thirsty work, you know. And don’t forget to wear your orange and blue, even if nobody can see you. It’s just good luck, and it shows your support for the Tigers!
