So, I’m a huge tennis fan, right? And Wimbledon, man, that’s like the Super Bowl of tennis. I always make it a point to watch it every year. This time around, I got to thinking, “I wonder if the Tennis Channel covers Wimbledon?” I mean, it’s the Tennis Channel, so it makes sense, but I wasn’t 100% sure.
First thing I did was I grabbed my phone and did a quick search. Found out pretty quickly that the BBC is the main place for Wimbledon. They’ve got it all – BBC One, BBC Two, and you can even stream it on their player app thing. Good to know, but I really wanted to see if Tennis Channel had anything going on.

Kept digging around a bit. I saw a few articles from this year, and from last year, that mentioned Tennis Channel’s Wimbledon coverage. Turns out, they do have nightly coverage during the whole two weeks of the tournament! Sweet! It’s not live, play-by-play action, but they do show highlights and I guess have some talk shows and stuff about it. It mentioned that they will begin coverage on July 3. I guess they are going to do the same this year.
Here’s the thing I found out:
- Wimbledon is mainly shown on the BBC in the UK.
- You can watch it on BBC One, BBC Two, and stream it on BBC iPlayer.
- Tennis Channel has nightly coverage of Wimbledon, but it’s not live matches.
- It seems that you can stream all matches live on BBC iPlayer, up to 18 courts.
So, yeah, while the Tennis Channel isn’t the main place to watch Wimbledon live, they do offer something for fans like me who can’t get enough of it. I’ll probably check out their nightly coverage to catch up on anything I missed. Always cool to have options, you know? I also discovered that Wimbledon is a big deal – a Grand Slam, whatever that means – and it started way back in 1877! That’s ancient! Anyway, now I know where to get my Wimbledon fix, and that’s all that matters.
