Okay, so I’ve been wondering about something lately, and I figured I’d share my little investigation with y’all. The question that’s been bugging me is: “Does minor league baseball still happen in October?” I mean, we all know the big leagues are wrapping up with the World Series around that time, but what about the minors?
So, I started digging around. First, I checked out some official baseball rosters, like the one for the McMurry University War Hawks. Just browsing through, trying to get a feel for the regular season schedules. I saw some notes about their 2023 roster, nothing about October baseball.

Then I went down a bit of a rabbit hole about baseball abbreviations. You know, trying to decipher all those codes and acronyms. Turns out, “Minor League Baseball” has a bunch of shorthand versions. Learned something new! Didn’t exactly answer my question, but hey, knowledge is power, right?
After that, I stumbled upon this quiz about Cape Cod Baseball League teams. Apparently, it’s a big deal for college players in the summer. One out of every four American-born major league players comes through there. Again, interesting, but not exactly what I was looking for. They are playing during the summer, not in October.
My search took a weird turn, and I ended up reading about the CZ 512, which is some kind of rifle, I guess. Don’t ask me how I got there. Total detour! I was lost, obviously.
Next, I somehow landed on a page talking about how to check your pulse in your inner thigh, something about using two or three fingers. Clearly, I was way off track at this point. I mean, seriously, how did I go from baseball to checking my pulse? This happens all the time.
Then, back to baseball, but this time it was “Little League Baseball.” I was reading about the different meanings of the acronym. Still no mention of October baseball for the minor leagues.
And things got even weirder! I found myself reading about interoperability in healthcare and how it supports value-based care. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, it’s all about sharing patient data efficiently. I mean, what does this have to do with baseball? I was totally lost again.

Finally, I ended up on a page discussing market economies and what producers mean when they ask a certain question. I honestly can’t even remember the question. My brain was fried at this point.
So, what did I find out?
Honestly, not much about minor league baseball in October. I got sidetracked, went down some weird internet alleys, and learned a few random things along the way. But I still don’t have a clear answer to my original question.
- I looked at some college baseball rosters.
- I learned about baseball abbreviations.
- I found out about a cool summer league.
- I read about a rifle, for some reason.
- I learned how to check my pulse in my leg.
- I researched “Little League Baseball” meanings.
- I delved into healthcare interoperability.
- I pondered some economics stuff.
- I ended up knowing nothing about the minor league.
Maybe one of you guys knows the answer? If so, let me know! Otherwise, I guess I’ll have to keep digging. It’s been a wild ride, folks!
