Okay, so I’ve been a huge college football fan forever, and the Pac-12 has some seriously awesome games. But, I finally cut the cord with cable – best decision ever, by the way, my wallet is much happier! – and I needed to figure out how to still catch all the action. Here’s what I did, and it worked out pretty well:
My Game Plan to Ditch Cable and Still See the Games
First, I checked the Pac-12 schedule. I wanted to know exactly which networks were broadcasting the games I cared about. Most of them are on the Pac-12 Network, of course, but some are also on ESPN, Fox, and those kinds of channels.

Then, I started looking into streaming services. It’s like a jungle out there, so many options! I narrowed it down by figuring out which ones actually carried the Pac-12 Network and the other channels I needed.
The Services I Tried Out
- FuboTV: This one was a front-runner. It has the Pac-12 Network, plus a bunch of other sports channels. I did a free trial, and it was pretty solid. The picture quality was good, and I didn’t have many buffering issues.
- Sling TV: Sling is a bit cheaper, but you have to get the “Sports Extra” add-on to get the Pac-12 Network. I tried this one too, just to compare. It worked, but I felt like FuboTV was a little smoother.
- Vidgo: I also gave it a free trial, The picture quality was good as well.
Making the Final Decision
After trying those out, I decided to go with FuboTV. It just felt like the best overall package for what I wanted. Sling was tempting because of the price, but FuboTV had all the channels I needed without having to add anything extra.
So, I signed up for FuboTV, and I’ve been watching Pac-12 football all season without any problems. It’s way cheaper than cable, and I can watch it on my TV, my phone, my laptop – pretty much anywhere. Totally worth it!
