Now, let me tell ya about some basketball folks from Michigan. You know, Michigan’s got more than a few good players who made it big in the NBA. Some of ’em are right up there with the best of ’em, and when you start talkin’ about the NBA, you can’t leave out them Michigan boys. They sure know how to play ball, and some of ’em are still goin’ strong today.
First off, ya gotta talk about Cade Cunningham. That boy is something special, ain’t he? Detroit’s got itself a gem in that young fella. I reckon he’s gonna be a big part of the Pistons’ future. Some folks say he’s the most exciting young player Detroit’s seen in years, and that’s sayin’ somethin’. He ain’t just good, he’s got the potential to be great, mark my words.

Now, let’s not forget about Draymond Green. He’s another one of them Michigan boys who really made a name for himself. Folks might remember him from his time at Michigan State, and look at him now! He’s won championships with the Golden State Warriors, and he’s known for his defense and leadership. He ain’t always the one makin’ the big shots, but he’s always the one runnin’ the show behind the scenes. He’s got that fire in him, and he ain’t afraid to show it, even if he does ruffle a few feathers now and then.
Then there’s Jaren Jackson Jr. You might have heard of him too. That fella’s playin’ for the Memphis Grizzlies, and he’s doin’ real good for himself. He’s a shot blocker and a rebounder, and boy, can he get up there. People say he’s one of the best defensive big men in the game right now. All I know is, when you watch him play, it’s like watchin’ a giant jumpin’ up and swattin’ shots left and right. That boy’s got talent, no doubt about it.
But Michigan’s not just about those big names. There’s plenty of other fellas who’ve come outta the state and made their mark. You got people like Trey Burke, Tim Hardaway Jr., and even some of the older boys like Glenn Robinson. These fellas have been around the league a while, and they’ve each left their own little stamp on the game. It don’t matter whether they’re from Detroit or not, Michigan’s basketball players are all over the place makin’ a name for themselves.
Some of them are still playin’, some have retired, but they all got somethin’ in common. They come from a place that loves their basketball. It ain’t just about the big cities like Detroit or Ann Arbor, it’s about the whole state. Whether it’s in the city or out in the country, Michigan folks have a passion for the game. And that passion shows in the NBA, that’s for sure.
And you can’t forget the Michigan Wolverines. Them boys from the University of Michigan sure know how to play basketball too. Since 1947, 76 players from the Wolverines have been drafted into the NBA. That’s a whole lotta talent comin’ outta one school! If you ever watched a Wolverines game, you’d know what I mean. They play with heart, and a lot of ‘em go on to do big things in the pros.
There’s even some fellas from Michigan State still doin’ their thing in the NBA too. Like I said, Draymond Green, and don’t forget about the likes of Morris Peterson and Zach Randolph. They’ve all made their mark in the league, and there’s more where that came from.

So, if you’re ever wonderin’ where the next big thing might come from in the NBA, don’t forget about Michigan. That state sure knows how to produce some top-notch players. Whether it’s from Detroit, Lansing, or the smaller towns, them Michigan folks are out there in the NBA, makin’ a name for themselves every season.
So, the next time you’re watchin’ a game and you see a player from Michigan, give ‘em a little extra cheer. They’re representin’ their state, and they’re doin’ it proud. From Cade Cunningham to Draymond Green, to Jaren Jackson Jr., Michigan’s NBA stars are out here showin’ the world what they got.
