Okay, so I’ve been getting into the NFL lately, but I had NO clue which team to root for. It’s kinda overwhelming, right? So, I did a deep dive, and here’s how I finally picked my favorite team. I am documenting all to share with you!
Started with Some Soul Searching
First, I asked myself what I actually wanted in a team. Did I want a team that always wins? A team with a cool history? Or maybe a team that’s, like, the underdog?
- Winning is fun, but it’s not everything.
- History is cool, some teams have, like, decades of stories.
- Underdogs are exciting! Everyone loves a good comeback story.
I decided I wanted a bit of everything. A team with some success, a good story, and maybe a bit of that underdog vibe.
Looked at My Own Backyard
Next, I thought about location. Is there a team near me? It would be awesome to actually go to a game someday! I checked a map of all the NFL teams. Turns out, there are a couple relatively close. That narrowed things down a lot!
Did Some Serious Research(aka Watched a Lot of Videos)
Now for the fun part! I started watching game highlights. YouTube is a GOLDMINE for this. I watched old games, documentaries, even those “fan reaction” videos (those are hilarious!). I was looking for a team that just felt right. Did their playing style excite me? Did I like their uniforms? Did the fans seem like my kind of people?
Dug into Team History and Culture
I also started reading about each team’s history. I learned about legendary players, famous coaches, and those crazy moments that make sports so great. Some teams have these amazing stories, like, overcoming huge obstacles to win championships. That really resonated with me.
- Checked out team websites, fan forums, and even some sports blogs.
- Read about rivalries – those are always intense!
Embraced the Chaos
Honestly, I got a little obsessed. I was spending hours watching videos and reading articles. It was almost too much information. I felt a good feeling in my gut, That’s it. That’s the one.
Made the Big Decision(and Got Some Merch!)
Finally, I just went with my gut. I picked a team that ticked most of my boxes: a good history, some recent success, and a passionate fan base. I won’t call out names(not supposed to be promotion). And, of course, I bought a jersey! Now I’m officially ready for the season to start. Go team!
It was a bit of a journey, but it was totally worth it. Now I have a team to cheer for, and I feel like I’m part of something bigger. That’s what sports are all about, right?
