Well, let me tell ya, there’s this new TV commercial out and it’s got them big-time basketball folks in it, ya know, Carmelo Anthony, Kendrick Perkins, and T.J. Ford. Now, if you’re anything like me, you ain’t got much time for them fancy gadgets and whatnot, but when it’s about them boys from the good ol’ 2003 NBA Draft, I gotta sit up and pay attention. Y’all remember that draft night, don’t ya? Them fellas were all dressed up in them boxy suits, and now, it looks like they brought ’em back in this new ATT ad. They call it “Boxy Boys”—don’t know why, but that’s the name they gave it!
So, the commercial kicks off with Carmelo, you know, the one who was picked third in the 2003 NBA Draft, sittin’ with Kendrick Perkins and T.J. Ford. They’re just hanging out, watchin’ the game, and next thing ya know, Carmelo gets a notification on his phone from ATT. Now, I ain’t no tech expert, but I reckon that’s somethin’ about their services or some deal they’re havin’. Anyway, there they are, havin’ a good ol’ time while they all reminisce about their glory days.

Now, you might be wonderin’ what all this has to do with ATT, right? Well, apparently ATT is usin’ these ol’ buddies to get folks talkin’ about their new wireless stuff. And boy, let me tell ya, the ad’s got all them catchy little tunes too. If you watch it, you might catch yourself hummin’ that little Chingy song that plays in the background. It’s like one of them catchy tunes from back in the day that gets stuck in your head, you know what I mean?
Now, these fellas, Carmelo, Kendrick, and T.J., they ain’t just regular folks, no sir. Carmelo Anthony, he’s a 10-time NBA All-Star, and Kendrick Perkins? Well, he used to be a big ol’ center for the Boston Celtics. Together, them two are just as big as they come in the basketball world, even if they ain’t playin’ no more. I reckon they thought it’d be fun to team up for a commercial and bring back them old memories from their draft night.
And did y’all see them suits? Them boxy suits from back in the day, the kind you’d see folks wearin’ in them fancy ballrooms or maybe at some big ol’ dinner party? I ain’t seen them kind of suits in ages! It’s like they’re tryin’ to remind us that time sure does fly, but them good ol’ days, they’ll always stick with us. Them suits, they just brought back so many memories from when them boys first started out in the NBA.
So, if you’ve got yourself a TV and a minute to spare, go ahead and watch that commercial. You’ll see Carmelo, Kendrick, and T.J. havin’ a good time, laugh a little, and talk about them old days. And you might just get yourself a little reminder of them good ol’ days of basketball too. It’s a good way to pass the time, I reckon.
In the end, I don’t know much about ATT and all their fancy tech, but if it gets folks talkin’ about them big-time basketball players, then I guess it’s doin’ somethin’ right. Ain’t that right?
