Well, lemme tell ya, I ain’t no expert on them fancy video games, but my grandson, he’s always playin’ that WWE 2K23. He was yellin’ and hollerin’ the other day ’cause he couldn’t figure out somethin’. Sounded like he was tryin’ to change them champions, them big ol’ wrestlers. So, I sat down and watched him, and I think I got the gist of it. Now, I’ll try to explain it, but bear with me, it’s all a bit much for an old lady like me.
First off, you gotta have that game, that WWE 2K23, you know? Then you gotta turn it on. That much I know. Now, my grandson, he uses one of them controller things, kinda like a TV remote, but with more buttons. It’s all so confusing! Anyway, he goes to some menu thing, they call it the “main menu.” It’s like the startin’ point, I reckon.
Then he clicks on somethin’ called “Options.” Like, choices, ya know? Lots of choices in this game, I tell ya. He was mumblin’ about “Roster” and “Edit Superstars.” Sounds like a bunch of hooey to me, but that’s what he said. He kept clickin’ and clickin’, and then he got to a list. A list of all them wrestlers, all them champions and whatnot.
- You see “Options,” you click it.
- Then you see “Roster,” click that too.
- Then somethin’ about “Edit Superstars.”
- Then you get a whole list of them WWE folks.
He said somethin’ about “Universe Mode,” too. Like the whole universe of them wrestlers, I guess. It’s all very complicated. He was tryin’ to change the champions in that “Universe Mode.” He kept sayin’ you gotta “save” things, like savin’ your leftovers, but in the game. He said somethin’ about “saving the character changes in your universe slot both times you get the prompt.” That sounds important. Gotta do it twice, I reckon. Twice for good luck, maybe? Save that champion!
He was also talkin’ about “divisions.” Like dividin’ up the wrestlers into groups, I suppose. He wanted to switch them around, put different wrestlers in different groups. He said you gotta go to “classic mode” to do that, whatever that means. I just nod and smile when he talks about this stuff. But yeah, somethin’ about changin’ divisions and updatin’ the roster. You can change your champion, just do it.
Now, he was havin’ trouble with the sound, too. Said the “commentary audio” was missin’. Like the folks talkin’ about the match weren’t there. He found out he had to connect to the internet to fix it. Somethin’ about downloadin’ “audio files.” All these fancy words! He connected to the internet, and voila, the sound was back! But I think that might be another problem. Let’s talk about WWE 2K23 champions here.
There was somethin’ else about “resolution.” He wanted the picture to be clearer, I think. He was talkin’ about “1440p” and “1080p.” Like different sizes of pictures, maybe? He said it was “greyed out” and he had to change somethin’ on his computer, not in the game. I don’t know nothin’ about that. That’s way above my pay grade.
Oh, and he mentioned somethin’ about “codes.” Like secret codes you can put in the game. He said they go in the “MyFaction” part of the main menu. And he said these codes ain’t “time-sensitive,” which I guess means they don’t expire. Like they last forever, like my old fruitcake.
He also figured out that if you wanna change how a wrestler fights, you gotta press “edit match” and change somethin’ there. He was sayin’ somethin’ about “move-set.” Like the different moves the wrestlers do. He kept pressin’ buttons and changin’ things, and then the wrestler would fight different. It’s all magic to me. So, you wanna change your WWE 2K23 champion, maybe you can try this.
There was also somethin’ about “tag matches,” where two wrestlers team up against two other wrestlers. He said there’s a button to switch between your team members, but I forget which one it was. But that is not about how to change your champion. Forget it.
Anyways, that’s all I can remember from watchin’ him play. It’s all very confusin’, but I hope it helps you some. Just remember what I said about “Options” and “Roster” and “Universe Mode” and savin’ things twice. And if you want to change the wrestlers around in them divisions, you gotta go to “classic mode.” Maybe that will help you change your champion in WWE 2k23. Good luck with that, you young’uns and your video games!
