Now, I ain’t no fancy pants expert or nothin’, but from what I hear, them basketball fellas, the ones in the NBA, they make a whole heap more money than the football guys. Yeah, the NFL fellas, they ain’t doin’ too bad neither, but them NBA boys, they’re somethin’ else.
- NBA Salaries are Sky High: I heard on the TV the other day that the average NBA player makes somethin’ like, uh, let’s see, ten million dollars a year? Maybe even more now! That’s a lot of hay, I tell ya. Some of them top fellas, they’re makin’ fifty million or more! Can you believe that? Fifty million dollars! Why, you could buy a whole town with that kinda money.
- NFL Guys Make Good Money, But…: Now, them football fellas, they ain’t poor, no sir. They make good money too. But it ain’t the same as them basketball boys. The whole football team makes a lot of money, yeah, but they gotta split it up between a whole bunch of players. Basketball teams are smaller, so the money gets spread around less, I reckon.
- Why the Difference?: Well, I ain’t too sure on all the details, but it seems like there ain’t as many real good basketball players around as there are football players. So, if you’re one of the best basketball players, you can ask for a whole lot of money, ‘cause the teams really want ya. And them basketball fellas, they seem to be real important to their teams. Like, one or two good players can make a whole team great, ya know?
It’s All About the Benjamins, Baby!
So, if you’re lookin’ to get rich playin’ sports, it seems like basketball is the way to go. Course, you gotta be real good, like one of the best in the whole world. But if you are, you’ll be rollin’ in dough. You could buy a fancy house, a fancy car, heck, you could probably buy your own island!
Now, them football fellas, they still make a good livin’, don’t get me wrong. They can buy a nice house and a nice car, but maybe not their own island. And the coaches, the cheerleaders, the waterboys, and them fellas that watch the other teams, well, they make money too, but not as much as the players. That’s just how it is, I guess.
More Money, More Problems?
You know, sometimes I wonder if all that money makes them fellas happy. I mean, sure, money can buy you a lot of things, but it can’t buy you happiness, that’s what they say. But I reckon it’s better to be rich and unhappy than poor and unhappy, ain’t it? At least that’s what I’d tell ya.
Summing it Up, Nice and Simple
So, to put it plain and simple, them NBA fellas make more money than the NFL fellas. A whole heap more, it seems. And that’s because there ain’t as many of ‘em, and they’re real important to their teams. That’s the long and short of it, as far as I can tell.

Who’s Worth More?
So, who’s worth more, an NFL player or an NBA player? Well, if you’re talkin’ about money, it’s the NBA player, hands down. But if you’re talkin’ about somethin’ else, like teamwork or toughness, well, that’s a whole different story. Both them fellas work hard and they’re good at what they do. But when it comes to the greenbacks, them basketball boys are on top.
