Alright, so you wanna know about this young fella, Andrew Paulson, huh? Well, lemme tell ya what I know, which ain’t much, but I’ll try my best. This Paulson kid, he’s a tennis player, from that Czech place, you know, over there in Europe somewhere. Don’t ask me exactly where, I ain’t got no map in front of me.
Now, they say he’s pretty good, this boy. Born in 2001, so he’s still wet behind the ears, if you ask me. But apparently, he’s been hittin’ them fuzzy yellow balls for a while now. They got these rankings, you see, for tennis players. Sorta like how they rank the cows at the county fair, only this is for tennis.
- They say his best rankin’ in singles, that’s when they play one-on-one, was 302. Now, I don’t know how many tennis players there are in the world, but 302 sounds pretty high up there, don’t it? Must be a lot of fellas tryin’ to whack that ball around.
- And then there’s doubles, where they play two on a side. He’s even better at that, they say. Got up to 123 in the rankin’s. See, that’s what I’m talkin’ about, this kid’s got some talent.
They also say he’s won some titles, these Challenger things. Sounds fancy, don’t it? Challenger. Like he’s challengin’ the whole world or somethin’. Anyways, he’s won eight of them in doubles. That’s a lot, right? Means he’s good at teamin’ up with another fella and beatin’ the pants off the other team.
Now, if you wanna know the exact scores and all that fancy stuff, you gotta go look it up yourself. I ain’t got no fancy computer here, just this old radio and my eyes. But there’s this thing called the internet, they say it has all the information you could ever want. You can probably find out when he’s playin’ next and watch him on that there TV if you got one of them fancy ones.
They also keep track of how many aces he hits. That’s when he serves the ball so fast the other guy can’t even touch it. And they count double faults too, that’s when he messes up the serve. I guess they keep track of everything these days. It’s all a bit much for an old lady like me, but hey, that’s how they do things.
This Paulson fella, he’s 22 years old now. Still a young’un in my book. But he’s already made a name for himself in this tennis world. They say his highest rankin’ was 302 back in November of ’23, but now he’s around 361 or somethin’. Rankin’s go up and down, you know, just like the price of eggs. One day you’re up, the next day you’re down.

All this talk about tennis is makin’ my head spin. But this Paulson kid, he seems like a good one. Hope he keeps on hittin’ them balls and winnin’ those titles. Makes his mama proud, I bet.
He’s from Czech Republic, born on November 16, 2001. That’s all I know about his personal stuff. Seems like a good kid, though. Works hard, plays hard, just like we all should.
