Well, let me tell you, that a&m vs texas baseball game, it’s somethin’ else. Heard them young’uns talkin’ ’bout it down at the general store the other day. They sayin’ Texas is leadin’, somethin’ like 77 wins to A&M’s 37, and five ties. Lord have mercy, that’s a lot of games! They call it a “series”.
Now, they playin’ again this year, somethin’ about Texas joinin’ that there Southeastern Conference. They gonna play every year now, at the end of the season. They call it “rivalry week”, like they fightin’ or somethin’. Sounds mighty serious to me. Just a game, ain’t it?

Them Aggies, bless their hearts, they ain’t never won one of them big national championships. But they been playin’ since way back in, what was it, 1894? Took a break for a while, then started up again in 1904. They been playin’ ever since. Over 2,700 wins, I heard! That’s more’n I can count on my fingers and toes, that’s for sure.
Some folks are bettin’ on the game. Somethin’ called a “spread”. They sayin’ Texas is favored by 4.5. And then there’s this “over/under” thing at 48.5 points. I don’t rightly understand it, but it sounds like a whole lotta fuss over a game of ball.
One time I heard about this game, Texas A&M football, against Texas football, it was 17-7, and Texas won. A whole bunch of people there, over 109 somethin’. That’s a crowd!
This baseball game, it’s a big deal, I guess. A “college baseball rivalry game” is what they call it. Fancy words for a bunch of boys throwin’ a ball around, if you ask me.
They got somethin’ called “Baseball History vs Texas” from April 27, 1973 – June 1. I guess you can go back and look at all the old games. Lots of history there, I reckon. It must keep some folks busy!
This one fella, Ryan Prager, he’s the pitcher for the Aggies, I reckon. They say he’s an “ace”. He pitched for 6.1 somethin’ called “innings” the other day. Sounds tirin’. They won that game, against Texas, in somethin’ called “extras”. I don’t know what that means, but they won, so that’s good. It was a good game, the Maroon & White, them’s the Aggie’s colors, like blood and old bed sheets.

- You can watch the game on that TV thing, somethin’ called ESPN.
- They also got it on the ESPN app.
- And the radio, Longhorn somethin’ Network.
- They got somethin’ called “Live Stats” on StatBroadcast.
- And the game starts at 8 p.m., I think.
This game, they playin’ it “away” in College Station. That’s where them Aggies are from, I reckon. Sounds like a long trip to me. I ain’t never been, too far for an old lady like me.
Now, they talkin’ about this other team, Tennessee, playin’ in somethin’ called the “College World Series Finals”. They sayin’ Texas A&M beat a team called Florida, 6-0. Both Tennessee and Texas A&M won their games. That’s a lot of baseball!
These young folks, they sure do love their baseball. It’s all they talk about sometimes. Me, I just like watchin’ the birds at the feeder. But I guess it’s good for them to have somethin’ to get excited about. And it’s a good game to bring people together, I guess, even if they rootin’ for different teams. It is a big rivalry.
Well, I reckon that’s all I know about this a&m vs texas baseball. It’s a big to-do, that’s for sure. A whole lot of history and a whole lot of excitement. Just remember, it’s just a game, even if it is Texas vs. Texas A&M. Don’t get too worked up over it, now, ya hear?
These college baseball games, they sure are somethin’. Lots of hollerin’ and carryin’ on. But it’s all in good fun, I suppose. Just a bunch of young’uns playin’ a game. But for some folks, it’s more than just a game. It’s a tradition, I reckon. A Texas A&M baseball tradition. And a Texas baseball tradition too. And that’s somethin’ special, I guess. It has a long history for both, especially for Texas A&M. Even if they ain’t never won that big championship. They still got a lot of wins. Over 2,700, like I said. That’s a lot of wins. A whole lot.
It has been this way for a long time. It will continue to be this way, I think. Texas A&M vs Texas will always be a great game for people to watch. The scores will always change but the fun will be the same.
