Alright, so you wanna listen to them fellas in the cars talkin’, huh? The F1 team radio, they call it. Sounds fancy, but it ain’t rocket science. I’ll tell ya how to do it, just like I’d tell my own grandkids.
First off, you got that F1 app thingy on your phone, right? Some folks say you can hear ’em there, but I ain’t never figured it out myself. Too much fiddlin’ around for an old lady like me. But the young’uns, they seem to like it.
Now, there’s this thing called F1 TV. That’s where the real deal is, from what I hear. You gotta pay for it, though, nothin’ in life is free, ya know. But with that F1 TV, you get to see everything. The cars racin’, and you get to hear them drivers yappin’ away. Every single one of ’em, all 20 of them fellas.
- See the race: You watch the cars go zoom zoom.
- Hear the drivers: Them fellas talkin’ to their bosses, complainin’ about the car, or yellin’ at each other. It’s a hoot sometimes.
- Onboard cameras: You get to see what the driver sees, like you’re right there in the car with ’em. Makes you a bit dizzy, though.
They say you can hear all sorts of stuff on that radio. Like, “My tires are gone!” or “This car ain’t turnin’ right!” And sometimes they get real mad, swearin’ and whatnot. It’s like listenin’ in on a bunch of fellas arguin’ at the local diner, only they’re goin’ 200 miles an hour. Makes ya wonder how they focus on drivin’!
Now, if you’re in the USA or Canada, there’s this SiriusXM thing. It’s like the radio in your car, but fancier. They got the races on there, and I reckon they got some of that team radio too. The Sporting News folks, they’re in on it too, so you can probably find out more from them.
Some of them drivers, they don’t like us listenin’ in on their business. Says it’s a privacy thing. Well, I say if you’re gonna be a big shot race car driver, you gotta expect folks to be a little nosy. That’s just the way of the world, ain’t it?
And you can also listen to fellas like Steve Torre and Bill Lekas, they’re on the radio too, talkin’ about the races. They ain’t the drivers, but they know their stuff, so they say. It’s all part of the whole racin’ thing.
So there ya have it. You wanna listen to that F1 team radio, you got a few ways to do it. F1 TV, that’s the best, if you ask me. But if you’re just lookin’ for a taste, that SiriusXM thing might do the trick, or maybe even that F1 app if you can figure it out. Just don’t tell them drivers I told ya how to listen in on ’em, they might get their feathers ruffled!
And don’t forget, sometimes you can find clips of it online, too. Just search for “F1 team radio” and you might get lucky. Them youtubers are always puttin’ that stuff up for everyone to see.
It ain’t so hard after all, is it? Just a bunch of fellas talkin’ while they’re drivin’ real fast. Now you can listen in and feel like you’re part of the whole shebang, even if you’re just sittin’ on your couch with a cup of tea.
