Well, let me tell you about this tennis girl, Rodionova. Arina Rodionova, that’s her name. I don’t know much about tennis, mind you. All that running around, hitting a fuzzy ball. Seems like a lot of work to me.

This Rodionova girl, she’s from Russia, but now she plays for Australia. Don’t ask me how that works. Guess she liked the weather better down there. Can’t blame her, Russia gets mighty cold, I hear. Anyway, she’s been playing this tennis for a while now. Started way back when, I reckon.
I saw some numbers somewhere. Said she got to be number 97 in the world. In singles, whatever that means. Sounds pretty good, though. Almost made it to the top 100. That’s something to brag about, ain’t it? And in doubles, where they play two on each side, she got all the way up to number 41. That was a few years back, though.
- She won some titles too. One of them big WTA tour things, and another one of them WTA 125s. All in doubles, though. Seems like she’s better at playing with a partner.
- I heard she played in some place called Trnava. And Wuhan too. Don’t ask me where those places are. Probably far away. She played against some girls named Toth and Knutson and Bondar. Don’t know them neither.
Now, if you want to know how she’s doing right now, you gotta look at them live scores. They got websites for that, you know. Show you the points and all. I don’t understand half of it, but some folks are real into it. They keep track of all the matches and the rankings and stuff.
This girl, she keeps playing, though. Keeps hitting that fuzzy ball. Must be pretty good at it to keep going this long. Tennis ain’t easy, I tell ya. Takes a lot of practice and running around. My old knees wouldn’t be able to handle it, that’s for sure.
I saw on some website, they had all the details about her. Every match she ever played, practically. They even had the score point by point. Can you believe that? Who keeps track of all that stuff? I guess some folks really care about tennis.
They got rankings too. ATP and WTA, whatever that means. They rank all them tennis players. Rodionova, she’s on them lists. You can see how she’s doing compared to all the other players. It’s like keeping score on everyone. Seems a bit nosy to me, but that’s how they do it.

So, this Rodionova girl, she’s a tennis player. A pretty good one, I guess. From Russia, plays for Australia. Wins some, loses some. That’s life, ain’t it? Just keep swinging that racket, girl. That’s all you can do.
She’s been playing for years, and she’s still going. Must be tough to travel all over and play, you know. Different cities, different countries. Living out of a suitcase all the time. And then, people are watching and cheering. Or not cheering, depending on how you play, right? Seems stressful to me, but I guess she enjoys it, otherwise she wouldn’t keep doing it.
Anyway, that’s all I know about this Rodionova. Not much, I admit. But she seems like a hard worker, this tennis girl. And that’s something to be proud of, no matter what you do.
