Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about this young fella, Jack Counsell. Seems like he’s a baseball player, a pretty good one at that. Folks keep talkin’ about him, so I figured I’d piece together what I heard.
Now, they say he’s born in 2005, February 6th it was, down in Phoenix. That makes him a young’un, still got a lot of spring in his step, I reckon. They say he’s about 6 foot tall and weighs around 175-180 pounds. A good size for a ballplayer, not too big, not too small.

He plays that infield position, you know, second base mostly, sometimes shortstop. Throws right, bats right, just like them good ol’ fashioned players. He comes from a baseball family, ya see. His daddy, he played ball too, even made it to the big leagues! His older brother, Brady, he’s playin’ college ball up in Minnesota. So, baseball’s in their blood, it seems.
Jack, he went to Whitefish Bay High School, and wouldn’t ya know it, his team won the state championship in 2023! He was a real star on that team, they say. MVP, that’s what they called him. Lots of good players on that team, but Jack, he stood out. He was quick, had a good eye for the ball, and could hit it a country mile, or so they say.
- He’s good at hittin’ the ball. They say he’s got what they call “bat-to-ball skills.” That means he don’t miss much, I guess.
- He can run fast, too. Even did that 4×100 relay race in school. Fast feet are good for stealin’ bases, you know.
After high school, he went off to play college ball. First, he was at the University of Michigan. Big school, fancy place. But then he switched to Northwestern. Don’t rightly know why, but young folks change their minds sometimes, just like the weather.
Seems like the scouts, them fellas who watch young players, they like him. Perfect Game, that big baseball organization, they got a whole profile on him. Said he was one of the top players in Wisconsin. Even got drafted by the Colorado Rockies back in 1992, but that must be his daddy, seein’ as how Jack wasn’t even born yet! I get these things mixed up sometimes. Speaks to show ya the family’s got history, though.
Now, they use all sorts of fancy words to talk about him. “Projectable frame,” they say. “Advanced approach at the plate.” I don’t know nothin’ ’bout that. All I know is, the boy can play ball. He hits the ball hard, he runs fast, and he knows what he’s doin’ out there on the field.
They say he’s a sophomore now, still learnin’ the ropes. He’s got a long way to go, but he’s got the talent and the drive to make it far. Maybe we’ll see him in the big leagues one day, just like his daddy. That would be somethin’, wouldn’t it? A young fella from Whitefish Bay, makin’ it big in the world. Makes an old woman like me proud, even though I ain’t never met him.

Folks keep track of him, you know, on them internet things. They got all sorts of numbers and stats about him, how many hits he got, how many runs he scored. I don’t pay much attention to that stuff. I just like to see a good ball game, and it sounds like Jack Counsell plays a good one.
So, that’s the story on Jack Counsell, as best as I can tell it. A good young baseball player with a bright future. Keep an eye on him, folks. He might just be the next big thing.
