Well now, if ya wanna retire in MLB The Show 24, you gotta know it ain’t as easy as just packin’ up your stuff and walkin’ away. It’s a whole process, like when yer done with the harvest but still gotta put away all the tools. Y’see, in the game, you’re in control of your player’s future, but it don’t always let ya do what you want right away. So here’s what you need to do if you’re ready to hang up your cleats and call it quits in MLB The Show 24.

First thing you gotta know is that you ain’t gonna just retire because you’re tired or want to sit on the porch. No, no. In Road to the Show (RTTS), you gotta wait for the right time and make the right moves. Some folks been playin’ for years and they don’t even know how to quit. They just keep getting contracts even when they don’t want ‘em. One fella said he told his agent he was done five seasons ago, but every year he’s still gettin’ those offers. Ain’t that somethin’? He wanted to retire after hittin’ 700 saves, but now he’s up to 1100. So ya see, sometimes it ain’t easy to hang up your uniform.

MLB The Show 24: How Do You Retire Your Player in RTTS?

Now, if yer at the point where ya don’t want no more contracts and you want out, but ya don’t see no options for retirement, there’s a couple of things you can do. First, check your age. If yer player’s been around the block a few times, like at age 37, ya might be close to hangin’ it up. But even then, the game don’t always make it clear how to retire.

Here’s what you gotta do if you’re in RTTS:

  • If ya ain’t signed a contract, don’t panic. You might be close to that retirement decision, but first make sure ya ain’t got any active deals on the table.
  • If ya ain’t seein’ any messages from your agent about retiring, try not to ignore ‘em. The game might not tell ya directly, but sometimes you gotta be patient and wait for it to pop up when the time’s right.
  • Keep track of your player’s stats and see if they’re still good enough to keep playing or if it’s time to call it a day.

If yer really fed up and don’t wanna deal with contracts anymore, you can try somethin’ else. March to October mode might be your way out. It’s a quicker way to finish your career without too much fuss. But if you wanna stick to the traditional way, you gotta get out of Diamond Dynasty and go into Moments in Quick Play.

Once you’re in there, you gotta press on other programs and find the one for number retirement. That’s the key! By goin’ through this, you can wrap up yer career nice and neat like when ya finish puttin’ up the last jar of preserves before winter sets in.

If none of that’s workin’, and you still wanna be done, there’s always the Franchise mode. Go to Franchise and then load your cloud save. From there, ya might be able to retire your player through the options that pop up when you try to load your franchise. It’s a bit roundabout, but it gets the job done if ya want out.

So here’s a quick recap of what to do:

MLB The Show 24: How Do You Retire Your Player in RTTS?
  • Don’t accept any more contracts if you’re done playing.
  • Make sure you’re not getting pushed into the roster or forced to play.
  • Look for options in the “March to October” or “Franchise” modes if RTTS ain’t giving you the retirement option right away.

In the end, it might take a bit of patience, but eventually, the game will let you walk away from the diamond. Just like how folks eventually get tired of doin’ the same old chores every day, yer player’ll get their chance to retire when the time’s right. So don’t fret too much if it don’t happen right away. Just keep playin’, and you’ll figure it out.

Remember, retiring is a big deal. Like finally settlin’ down after years of workin’ in the field. It’s the end of a chapter, but there’s always a new one ahead. So when you finally retire, you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the game in a whole new way.
