Okay, so today I wanted to figure out this whole “agility” thing in Baseball 9. I’d seen it as a stat, but I wasn’t really sure what it did in the game. So, I decided to put it to the test.
Getting Started: Setting Up the Experiment
First, I picked two players. One had super high agility, like 99. The other, I made sure had really, really low agility, close to 0. I figured that would make the differences, if there were any, really obvious, you know?

Then, I went into a few practice games. No pressure, just me messing around.
Testing, Testing… 1, 2, 3
- Fielding:
First thing I tried, fielding. I intentionally hit some easy grounders and fly balls to both players. With the high agility guy, it was smooth. He moved quickly, got to the ball fast, and made the plays no problem. The low agility player? Total opposite. Clumsy, slow, and he missed way more balls.
- Baserunning:
Next up, baserunning. I had both players run from first to second, and then tried to steal bases. The high agility player, he zoomed! Fast off the base, and made it to second easily most of the time. My low agility guy? He was like a snail. It was almost painful to watch him try to steal. He got thrown out, a lot.
- Diving:
I also wanted to see about diving for balls. So I made sure to hit some line drives just out of reach. High agility? He dove, and sometimes even made those crazy catches. The low agility player, he mostly just stood there, or made a sad little flop that didn’t get him anywhere near the ball.
My Conclusion: Agility Matters!
After all this, it was pretty clear. Agility in Baseball 9 is a HUGE deal. It impacts how fast your players move in the field, how quickly they react to the ball, their speed on the bases, and even their ability to make diving plays. If you want players who can make those highlight-reel plays, you definitely want to boost that agility stat!
So yeah, that’s my little experiment. Hopefully, this helps someone else figure out what agility does. It’s definitely something I’ll be paying attention to when I build my team!
