Alright, guys, so the other day I decided I wanted to get back into playing tennis. I used to play a lot, but life got in the way, you know how it is. Anyway, I figured the first step was figuring out how to actually book a court. It’s not like I have my own private court, sadly! So, here’s how I went about it, and hopefully, it helps some of you out.
Figuring Out Where to Play
First things first, I needed to find some tennis courts near me. I didn’t even know where to start, to be honest. I just grabbed my phone and opened up Google Maps. I simply typed in “tennis courts near me” and boom, a bunch of options popped up.

I saw a few public parks with courts, and then a couple of private clubs. I decided to check out the parks first, since they’re usually cheaper, or sometimes even free.
Making Some Calls (or Not!)
So, I found a park that looked promising, it had a few courts and wasn’t too far away. I clicked on the listing in Google Maps to get the details. I found a phone number, so I dialed it up.
I got some automated message system – you know, the kind that makes you press a million buttons. “Press 1 for court availability, press 2 for…” Ugh. I eventually got through to someone, and they told me I could just show up and play, first-come, first-served. Easy enough!
But, I also wanted to check out one of the private clubs. I figured they might have better courts, maybe even indoor ones (it’s been raining a lot lately). Their website was a little fancier. There was a phone number, sure, but I also spotted an online booking system!
The Online Booking Thing
This was more my style. I hate making phone calls. I clicked on the “Book a Court” button and it took me to a new page. I had to create an account – name, email, the usual stuff. It only took a minute.
Once I was logged in, I could see a calendar with all the available time slots. It was pretty cool, actually. I could see which courts were free, what times, and even how much it cost. I picked a day and time that worked for me, selected a court, and clicked “Book.”

I had to enter my credit card info, of course. But once I did that, I got a confirmation email with all the details. Boom! Court booked.
My Two Cents
So, based on my little adventure, here’s my advice:
- Use Google Maps to find courts near you. It’s super easy.
- Call the park or facility to see if you need to reserve, or if it’s just walk-on.
- If they have online booking, use it! It’s usually way more convenient.
- Check for confirmation emails, especially if you book online.
That’s it! Now I’m all set to play some tennis. Hopefully, this helps you get out on the court, too. Have fun, guys!
