Alright, so the other day I was feeling nostalgic and wanted to rewatch some old Formula 1 races. You know, the classics from back in the day, not this new-fangled stuff.
First, I scratched my head and thought, “Where the heck do I even find these old races?” I remembered there’s this thing called F1 TV. I’d heard about it before, so I went ahead and checked it out. Turns out, it’s like a goldmine for F1 fans, it is the home of F1 archive. They’ve got pre- and post-race shows, analysis, and a bunch of old races.
Now, here’s the deal with F1 TV. They’ve got different plans, and depending on which one you pick, you get access to different stuff. But even with the basic plan, you can watch live sessions and catch replays. For the old races, they usually have them up within 24 hours after the race ends. Not bad, right?
But I wanted more. I wanted to dig deeper. So, I browsed around and found some other places that claim to have F1 race archives. They say you can watch full replays for free, even some of those top teams and drivers. I thought, “This is too good to be true.” And it kinda was. Some of them are free, most of them are not available now.
Then, I got a little smarter and started searching for specific races. You know, like “F1 1996 Spain race.” And bam, I found some people sharing sessions on these online forums. Some years, like 2009, have almost every single session uploaded. It’s hit or miss, but worth a shot.
Now, I gotta say, F1 TV is where it’s at for races from the 90s and beyond. It’s not perfect, though. If you’re looking for stuff from way back, like the early 2000s or earlier, it’s gonna be tough.
- So, here’s my little plan of attack:
- Step 1: Check out F1 TV. It’s the most legit and has a ton of stuff.
- Step 2: Look around for some free archives. You might get lucky.
- Step 3: Search for specific races online. It’s like a treasure hunt.
So yeah, if you’re like me and get that itch to watch some old F1 races, that’s how I went about it. It took a bit of digging, but it was worth it to relive those glory days of racing.
Some recommendations
If you want to watch some old good races. I would recommend 1996 Spain Grand Prix and 2011 Canada Grand Prix, these two are really wonderful.
Hope you guys can find the races you want.
