Hey, you wanna know what channel is LSU football game on tonight? My grandson, he’s always yellin’ about that LSU Tigers. He loves that football. Me? I don’t get it, all that runnin’ and jumpin’. But he likes it, so I try to keep up. So, I tell you what, it depends what time and who they is playin’.
Who is LSU playin’ this week?
Now, them Tigers, they play all the time. This week they are playin’ that Oklahoma team. That’s what my grandson said. I think it start at 7 o’clock. He always say “E.T.” after that. I think that mean Eastern Time. So that’s 7 p.m. Eastern Time. Saturday. That boy, he sure loves his LSU football.

Where can I watch it?
Now, I asked my grandson, where can you watch it? And he says, ESPN. That what he say. You got that channel? It’s one of them fancy ones. We got it on our big TV. We had to get that special box, you know?
If you don’t have that channel, my grandson, he say you can use the phone. He say somethin’ about an app. I don’t know about all that. Sounds complicated. But he says it’s the LSU Athletics app. He’s always on his phone, so he knows about these things.
What’s that app thing?
He showed me that app. It’s got all sorts of stuff on it. He says it’s got somethin’ called “live audio.” I guess you can listen to the game. That’s good if you can’t watch. It’s also got somethin’ about tickets. And schedules. And the players’ names. I can never keep all them boys straight. They all look the same to me in them uniforms. And somethin’ else he call “LSU GOLD.” I don’t know what that is. I guess you gotta pay for that one.
If you don’t have cable?
My grandson, he’s a smart one. He says if you don’t have that cable TV, you can still watch. There’s somethin’ called SEC Network. He says that’s where the game’s gonna be. But then he says, if you don’t have that, there is somethin’ else called Fubo. Sounds like a funny name to me. But he says you can watch the game on there, too.
He says you gotta pay for it, though. He said somethin’ about a “free trial.” I don’t know what that means. Sounds like you gotta be careful, or they’ll start chargin’ you. He said it was cheap at first. Like $49.99 for the first month. I don’t know, that still sounds like a lot to me just to watch a football game.
What if I don’t have cable at all?
Now, if you’re like me and you don’t have none of them fancy cable channels, my grandson says there’s still a way. He says there’s somethin’ called SEC Network+ and ESPN+. He says you can “stream” the game. I think that means you watch it on the computer or your phone. I don’t really understand all that, but he does it all the time.

He says some games ain’t on regular TV at all. Like that game against, what was it? Nicholls? Yeah, Nicholls State University. He says that one was only on that streamin’ thing.
When’s the next game after that?
If you miss this game, my grandson say they play again soon. He say Saturday, Nov. 9. They playin’ that Alabama team. I think he said it’s in Baton Rouge. That’s where them LSU Tigers play, in that big stadium they got there. Tiger Stadium. It’s a big place, I hear. Full of people yellin’ and screamin’.
What else do I need to know?
My grandson, he say if you want to know when the games are, you should look at the date. He say this game we talkin’ about is on Sept. 3. So you gotta keep track of the dates, I guess.
Other things my grandson told me
That boy, he talks a lot about this stuff. Here’s some other things he told me, just in case you’re interested:
- Sometimes the games are on different channels, he says. So you gotta check each time.
- He says that LSU app is good for other sports, too. Not just football.
- He says there’s lots of ways to watch, but some of them cost money.
- He’s always sayin’ “Go Tigers!” I guess that’s what you’re supposed to say if you like LSU.
So there you have it. That’s all I know about what channel is LSU football game on tonight. It’s all a bit confusin’ to me, but my grandson, he seems to understand it. If you really wanna know, maybe you should ask someone younger, like him. They know all about this technology stuff. I just hope them Tigers win! My grandson will be happy if they do.
