Well now, you come here wantin’ to know ’bout them LSU baseball boys from the year 2000, huh? Well, let me tell ya, them Tigers was somethin’ else that year. Mighty fine team they had. Played their games outta that big ol’ Alex Box Stadium down in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. All the folks would gather round there, watchin’ them boys swing them bats and throw them fastballs like it was second nature. That was a good year for LSU, I’ll tell ya that much.
Now, ’bout the roster for the 2000 LSU baseball team. I ain’t no expert, but I do know that they had a whole bunch of good players on that team. They had some hitters who could smack the ball like nobody’s business, and pitchers who could throw fast enough to make your head spin. The coach back then, he had them boys workin’ hard, and it showed. They was playin’ in the Southeastern Conference, which is no small thing, mind ya. Big teams from all over, but LSU was right in the thick of it, always fightin’ for them top spots.

Here’s a few names that stood out that year:
- Brad Cresse – Now, Brad, he was one of them big hitters. He could swing that bat like it was a broomstick. Real strong fella.
- David DeJesus – Played outfield, I believe. Good with his glove and even better at runnin’ down them fly balls.
- Michael LaRosa – He was a catcher, and let me tell ya, not easy to catch them fastballs from them pitchers. But he done it without breakin’ a sweat.
- Will Harris – Pitched like a pro. When it was his turn, you could count on him to throw them fast ones and strike them boys out.
- Blake Gailen – He had a good bat and could get on base when the team needed him most. Real dependable.
And them boys played good, too! In them college baseball tournaments, they didn’t just roll over for nobody. Nah, they fought hard, and it paid off. By the end of that season, they had a real fine record. LSU wasn’t just another team that year—they was a force to be reckoned with. Real proud of them, I tell ya.
Now, I ain’t gonna go on and on with all the stats and fancy stuff—don’t need all that. But them Tigers, they made it to the big leagues, so to speak, all the way to the College World Series that year. Went up against some tough teams, but they kept their heads high. In the end, they didn’t win the whole thing, but it wasn’t for lack of tryin’! Them boys gave it their all, and that’s all anyone can ask for.
Some folks still talk ‘bout that team, even today. ‘Bout how they was a real good bunch of ball players. And it wasn’t just the big names who made the difference, either. Everybody on that roster pulled their weight and played their part. That’s what made them so good—teamwork, you see. It ain’t always ‘bout the best players; sometimes it’s ‘bout the best team. And LSU sure had that in the year 2000.
All in all, that 2000 LSU baseball team will be remembered for years to come. They might not have won the whole thing, but they sure did make a mark. Mighty proud of them Tigers, I tell ya. And if you ever get a chance to watch one of them games from back then, I say go ahead and do it. It’ll show ya what real heart and soul in baseball looks like.
